Official 2019 Charger and Challenger press release thread

Am I correct in thinking the prices went down for the new models?
http://media.fcanorthamerica.com/newsrelease.do?id=20009&mid=1

Challenger SXT RWD $27,295
Challenger GT RWD $29,995
Challenger SXT AWD $30,295
Challenger GT AWD $32,995
Challenger R/T $34,100
Challenger R/T Scat Pack $38,995 – ($1,000 gas guzzler tax [GGT] on manual transmission)
Challenger SRT Hellcat $58,650 – ($1,700 GGT on all models)
Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye $69,650 – ($1,700 GGT )

From what I recall, the Wide Body Hellcat was over $70,000 (though, the Wide Body option has not been priced, so this is not apples to apples).

I'm not in the market for a car, but man these things are tempting. A 485 horsepower Scat Pack for under $40,000 and with the option to add a Wide Body? A Hellcat for under $60,000? The Redeye for under $70,000?
If it weren't for the fact that I can't afford both, I'd get the wife a Scat Pack just so I would have one to play with (but the TRX will price me completely out of the car market).

Yep - I just checked:
https://www.dodge.com/compare/quick-chart.html?modelYearCode=CUD201803
The new ones cost less than the old ones (though you'll no doubt be able to get a deal on the outgoing models).

But . . . apparently, it is even less of an apples to apples comparison because some features that used to be standard, no longer are:

(Wide Body option is $6,000)

Non of the cars listed are the Widebody optioned cars. I believe that the $6000 more for the widebody!

Fat Scat 8A for around $47,000? I’ve found the car I want. Although I don’t think I’d be able to refrain from adding Harman/kardon, Laguna leather, and the technology package. And the three-mode suspension...

Dang... I need to be putting a lot of money aside for this purchase.

1) Man, is it not so awesome to see David's photos on this site? Thank you Dave.
2) I am trying so, so, so, sooooooooo hard to like that Redeye hood, but I really think they missed the mark there. Something a bit less "nosey" would have been so much sexier -

If you do look at 72 Demon scoops they do look like them.

And given this car hits 203 mph...I understand why the are closer to the front.

Although they are similar to that GTO...they look way more like the original Mopar ones on super bees, darts, and demons

I don't see it to be honest. Aside from having 2 inlets, they are very different in design and aesthetic.

But, my meaning being, if you move those forward and if the originals were part of the hood instead of on top of the hood, they did exactly what they said.

And they look nothing like that GTO except that they are closer to the front.

Unfortunately they do look similar to the ram air on the Pontiac in the 90s.

But, they only look like in that they are farther forward.

The one FCA photo that is taken from the top like the demon pics you showed...makes it look closer.

But the argument is really as mute as the Demon name being used on an "ebody".

My favorite hood of all time is 73 roadrunner...and it is 50 years of the roadrunner and Super Bee in 14 more days at Carlisle. Hope to get lots of pics to share.

What Dodge hasn't talked about is that the Charger GT RWD and R/T models now have the SRT looks standard. SRT front fascia, sills, rear fascia and hood. One more step closer to axing the crosshair from the Dodge lineup.

Will the Charger ever be getting the Wide Body option?
Wife wants a four door and I see no point in having that much power without getting the Wide Body.
(theoretical question as I don't have room in my budget for a TRX and a Dodge - though I am hoping to someday augment the TRX with a used Charger, because I should be able to make that work, I'm just curious if a Wide Body Charger will ever be an option)
