Stellantis has announced a key leadership change in its North American operations, appointing Bob Broderdorf as the new Head of Jeep® North America. Effective immediately, Broderdorf will oversee the Jeep brand’s strategy, sales, and marketing efforts across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Bob Broderdorf brings over 25 years of industry experience to his new role, most recently serving as the Senior Vice President of Ram brand operations. He has also held leadership positions at Dodge, where he has played a crucial role in shaping the brand’s sales and marketing strategies since 2021.

Broderdorf will lead Jeep through a transformative period in his new position as the brand expands its electrified vehicle lineup. His extensive background in field sales, brand management, marketing strategy, and product development positions him well to navigate the evolving automotive landscape and strengthen Jeep’s presence in North America.

Carlos Zarlenga, COO of Stellantis North America, commented on the appointment, saying, “Bob’s diverse experiences in field sales, brand management, marketing strategy, and product development will be critical as the Jeep brand launches its electrified portfolio over the next several years.” Zarlenga emphasized the importance of optimizing operations and preparing for the future as the brand aims to grow its sales to 1.5 million units globally by 2027.

Antonio Filosa, CEO of Jeep®, also expressed his excitement about Broderdorf’s appointment. In a LinkedIn post, Filosa said, “I’m thrilled to announce the appointment of Bob Broderdorf to Senior Vice President, Head of the Jeep brand for North America. An industry veteran with over 25 years leading legendary brands, most recently RAM & Dodge, Bob has a proven track record of driving growth and profitability through deep dealer relationships, breakthrough marketing, coupled with strategic sales & go-to-market planning.”

Filosa praised Broderdorf’s deep connection with the automotive community, noting, “A native Michigander, Bob’s passion and respect for our brand community is infectious and he was instrumental in bringing the Brotherhood of Dodge community to life, through initiatives including the famous Roadkill Nights.”

Filosa added, “Couple that experience with his understanding of the changing dynamics of our industry, and I know Bob will be a great asset to strengthen the Jeep brand in our largest market on our way to growing sales to 1.5 million units globally by 2027.”

Broderdorf shared his enthusiasm about the new role on his personal LinkedIn page, stating, “So excited to announce the next chapter in my career. Today I have been appointed to Senior Vice President and Head of the Jeep North America – a role I could only have dreamed of when I started with the company over 25 years ago. A massive thank you to Antonio Filosa and Christine Feuell for both giving me and supporting me with this opportunity. Recognition must also be given to my fearless mentor Tim Kuniskis, who over a decade not only taught me so much, but always reinforced the importance of finding the last tenth of a second. Looking forward to connecting with the team, the dealers and the Jeep community. Let’s go!”

Bill Peffer, Head of North America Network Development. (Stellantis).

Bill Peffer has been named the Head of North America Network Development, effective October 1, in a related move. Peffer will focus on ensuring that Stellantis’ dealer network across the region operates at the highest level to maximize sales for Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Dodge, FIAT, Jeep, and Ram vehicles, as well as Mopar products. He replaces Phil Langley, who is retiring after more than 40 years with the company. Langley will remain with Stellantis until the end of the year to ensure a smooth transition and support various special projects.

Filosa took a moment to acknowledge Peffer’s new role and Langley’s retirement, saying, “I’d like to take this moment to thank William F. Peffer Jr. and wish him all the best in his new very important role leading Dealer Network for Stellantis North America.”

With these leadership changes, Stellantis continues to position itself for future growth and success, particularly as the Jeep brand embarks on its journey toward an electrified future.

Personally I think Jeep is in good shape to offer a wide variety of capable and attractive products. The most pressing issue is the drive train choices. If it is not eminently apparent yet, electric ONLY is a doomed product. Jeep must offer gasoline, pure hybrid and electric options to its customers. Every brand should follow suit.
Next, build quality must be improved. Lastly, keep their products fresh and segment leading. Think Jeep has a leadership role to set and maintain under Bob that defines Stellantis in North America.
I believe these are achievable goals that the other brands, especially Dodge and Chrysler, which are product starved right now, must adopt to succeed. Bob can be inspirational for these brands we all hope.
Jeep has a leg up and I wish Bob good luck in leading Jeep forward as a model for all domestic brands.

I agree with your comment about all electric. If they want to kill Jeep, offering a single power-source such as electric is a sure way to kill the brand. Not sure if there are any charging stations in the middle of the woods, out in the middle of nowhere, etc. ? Unless there's something like a laser-beam projected from a satellite that could zap a battery back to life? Dunno.

Wrong guy running this beloved company. Sorry, not personal, just facing facts.

And, oh, don't think for one minute Jeep could not suffer the same results as other brands.

I agree with both you and Bill on ALL engine options. As the owner of a Jeep, we do not go four wheeling in the woods but you bring up a GREAT point with your comment. I would say about 50% of Jeep owners, maybe more, (the others are soccer moms and large families) do go off roading, and your right, don’t see any charging stations being put anywhere close!!! Let’s not take away what Jeep stands for, for most people.
Only other option is to carry a large generator in your Jeep to charge it when off-roading in the woods. No wait, that takes gas!! What was I thinking. 🤔 lol

HEV are the future folks so yes essentially carrying around a big generator.

It pretty funny that one would think it is insightful that there are no remote charging stations way out in the woods, you know what also isn't remote refueling stations. But one can have access to wind, Solar, hydro in areas where you are 1000s of miles from an oil refinery.

You all need to sharpen your arguments. There are already Electric Jerry Cans being developed and Ford patent roof rack auxiliary battery. BYD and Tesla have high density batteries on the way that could provide range figures that ice engines can't touch.

These are Toyota and Honda customers today that don't realize or care that engine is not physically connected to the drive train. REV DT, JT, and JLs are inevitable, and I am not sure there is a strong argument that this is a bad thing.
