Ram 1500 TRX Rescues A Stuck Tesla Cybertruck From The Sand

In a turn of events underscoring the unpredictability of off-road adventures, a Tesla Cybertruck was found stuck on a sandy beach at the Sand Lake Recreation Area in Sandlake, Oregon. While getting stuck in the sand can happen to any vehicle, the incident garnered significant attention due to the Cybertruck’s rarity and the high expectations surrounding Tesla’s electric pickup truck.

Known for its futuristic design and electrified powertrain, the Tesla Cybertruck became immobile in the dunes. Despite its robust appearance and advanced technology, the sandy conditions proved too challenging. The owner of the Cybertruck, who had ventured onto the beach, quickly realized that getting unstuck would require some assistance.

Enter the Ram 1500 TRX, a pickup truck on the opposite end of the spectrum with its supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI® HELLCAT V8. As luck would have it, the TRX was nearby and willing to help. The scene quickly attracted a crowd, with onlookers assisting and capturing the event on their phones.

This isn’t the first time that the Cybertruck has needed assistance from an internal combustion pickup. In December, a video of a different Cybertruck being stuck in the snow went viral after it required assistance from a Ford Super Duty pickup. The video gained much attention from those who aren’t fans of the electric vehicle (EV) movement.

Nevertheless, Ram will soon be joining the likes of the Cybertruck, with the new 2025 Ram 1500 REV joining the Ram lineup in the fourth quarter of this year. Unlike the Cybertruck, the REV looks more like a conventional pickup truck. The REV is based on the STLA Frame architecture. It will feature a manufacturer’s estimated total driving range of 350 miles with its standard 168 kWh battery pack (a 229 kWh battery pack with a proposed 500-mile range is scheduled to arrive in 2026). The REV will feature a 0 to 60 mph time of 4.4 seconds and have an output of 654 horsepower and 620 lb.-ft. of torque on tap.

The good news is that for those who want to stick with the traditional combustion pickup, Ram will continue to offer a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 with eTorque mild-hybrid and twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter Hurricane I6 engines.
