Late Model Racecraft Creates 1,200 HP Ram 1500 TRX
426 CI Long-Block, Whipple Supercharged TRX, Creates Big Power...
The Ram 1500 TRX has been a monster since it hit the streets and trails in 2021. Powered by the supercharged 6.2-liter (376 cubic-inch) HEMI® HELLCAT V8, the off-road performance pickup produces 702 horsepower in its stock form, allowing it to do 0 to 60 mph in a blistering 4.5 seconds with a quarter-mile time of 12.9 sec. @ 108 mph.
However, with the last models of the HELLCAT-powered pickup arriving in dealers, there are still those who want more power. Recently, the owner of one particular TRX had the Late Model Racecraft (LMR) team work on upgrading the truck in both the looks and power departments.
Now wearing a white and gray camouflage custom wrap, the truck has been fitted with front and rear bumpers with Rigid lights, aftermarket wheels and tires, a big brake kit, and a leveling kit, giving the truck a unique look to match its unique personality.
Under the hood, LMR upgraded the HELLCAT V8 with a 426 cubic-inch long block, custom grind camshaft and ported cylinder heads, a massive Whipple supercharger, American Racing Headers, and a large 5-inch cold-air induction system. The modifications were good for 1,200 horsepower to the crank or 993 rear-wheel horsepower and 912 rear-wheel lb.-ft. of torque.
While LMR recently showed them working on the truck, their latest video shows the owner and his son picking up their truck and checking it out before they take it home. Both of those videos are posted above.
While we are saddened to see the TRX go, Ram isn’t letting up. A new TRX-based pickup, the RHO, will be available later this year. The biggest difference is that the RHO will get a 540-horsepower variant of the new twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter HURRICANE I6. So, it will be interesting to see how the aftermarket will modify that.
