It’s no secret that the Jeep® brand has been struggling with sales of its midsize Jeep Cherokee. A lot of people have been wondering what the brand has in store for the Cherokee lineup. Now we are learning details of some of the new changes once production ramps back up.
With 44% of Cherokee buyers purchasing the Latitude and Latitude Plus models, Jeep is adding a more premium package to its Latitude lineup with the new Latitude LUX. Adding some content found on the Limited model, the Latitude LUX gets the luxury treatment without adding the extra bling.
The Cherokee Latitude LUX will add the following equipment over the Latitude Plus…
- Standard 3.2-liter Pentastar V6 engine with stop-start technology (271 horsepower and 239 lb.-ft. of torque)
- Nappa Leather Seats
- Heated Front Seats
- Leather Wrapped Heated Steering Wheel
- Power Passenger Seat with Lumbar
- Remote Start
- Windshield Wiper De-Icer
- Forward Collision Warning
- Automatic Emergency Brake
- Lane Departure Warning Plus
- Rain Sensitive Windshield Wipers
The new Latitude LUX will have a U.S. Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) including destination charges of $31,395 for front-wheel-drive models and $32,895 for 4×4 models. The Latitude LUX will be offered in Diamond Black, Granite Crystal, Bright White, Velvet Red, Sting-Grey, Billet Silver, Blue Shade, Olive Green, and Light Brownstone. Even though production is halted, for the time being, you can go to your local Jeep dealer and request to order a Latitude LUX as soon as production starts up at the Belvidere Assembly Plant.
