Jeep® Mexico Unveils Its New Night Eagle Edition Wrangler!

Equal To The Sahara Altitude, However, Mexico Gets A Limited Number Of Units...

The Jeep® brand is known for introducing a number of special edition models throughout the model year. One of those special edition models is now heading to Mexico, for a limited run to finish off the 2021 model year for the iconic Jeep Wrangler. The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Night Eagle is a name familiar to many parts of the globe but we cement itself in the brand’s Mexican lineup between the Sahara and Rubicon trims.

The Night Eagle is based on the Wrangler Unlimited Sahara trim-level (it is also called the Sahara Altitude in the U.S. and Canada) and features Gloss Black grille intakes, as well as headlight, and fog light bezels. All of the exterior badging is featured in the Gloss Black look as well, while a set of 18-inch Gloss Black 5-spoke aluminum wheels, further enhance the Night Eagle’s aggressive urban stance. The limited-edition Night Eagle can be equipped with the Power Soft Touch (SkyOne Touch) roof, while a body-color hardtop is standard. An optional Hard Spare Tire Cover is also available, which is exclusive to the Night Eagle model.

Inside the Night Eagle, the dark theme continues with black upholstery and Wizard Black accents on the steering wheel, instrument panel, door appliques, speakers, and gear shifter surround. Black leather seats with black accent stitching also give the Night Eagle a luxurious look while continuing the darkened theme. Of course, the 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen with navigation featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is also standard.

Other standard equipment includes the Alpine Premium Audio system with an all-weather subwoofer, Passive Keyless Entry, and LED headlamps, LED tail lamps, LED fog lamps, and LED Daytime Running Lamps (DRLs).

With only one powertrain available under the hood of the Mexican-spec, Jeep relies on the proven 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 with the eTorque mild-hybrid system. The eTorque mild-hybrid system’s hybrid functions include auto stop/start, electric power assist, extended fuel shut-off, transmission shift management, intelligent battery charging, and regenerative braking. Both the engine and fuel flow may be turned off during stops, coasting, or when the engine is decelerating. The powertrain delivers 285 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque and is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Night Eagle special edition will only have a 100 unit production run for the Mexican market. All 100 units will be painted in Manta-Gray (also known as Sting-Gray in the U.S.) and the vehicles are arriving in dealer showrooms across Mexico now. The Night Eagle will have a Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $1,189,900 MXN (or about $57,830 USD).
