Jeep® Introduces New Gorilla Glass Option For Wrangler & Gladiator Models:
Ordering Now Open...
Over the past couple of years, we have seen case after case of Jeep® Wrangler and Gladiator owners complaining about how easily their windshields have developed cracks or stone chips during regular driving. Many people have believed that the rake of the windshield on the Wrangler and Gladiator has a lot to do with the windows getting hit by various debris.
But thanks to our dealer connections, it sounds like the Jeep brand has been listening and is ready to respond with a new option that opens this month.
Jeep has told its dealer body, that it has now opened ordering for a new Corning Gorilla Glass windshield option for the popular Wrangler and Gladiator models. Using the same chemical-strengthing technology as most cellphone screens and have up to 3-times higher impact resistance over standard glass. The new windshields are thinner and lighter than the conventional windshields that it replaces.
The new windshields consist of a combination of an ultra-thin Gorilla Glass inner ply with a 52% thicker outer ply
making the windshield lightweight, durable, and offers superior resistance to chips, cracks, and fractures from
stones and off-road debris that hard-core Jeepers are likely to encounter.
Jeep has listed the new windshields with the order code (GMA) and will set customers back $95 USD. Jeep expects that 80% of its orders will have the new option for both Wrangler and Gladiator models. But there is a slight catch. Jeep will offer the option on the following models…
Wrangler –
- Willys (N/A on Willys Sport)
- Sahara
- Rubicon
- Rubicon 392
- Sahara 4xe
- Rubicon 4xe
Gladiator –
- Willys (N/A on Willys Sport)
- Overland

- Mojave
