The success of 4xe technology continues… the Jeep® plug-in hybrid (PHEV) lineup of SUVs continued to show dominance in the Low Emission Vehicle (LEV) segment in Italy for the month of April. With a record market share of over 20% in a segment that includes battery-electric vehicles (BEV) and PHEV vehicles, more than one in five LEVs in Italy is a Jeep SUV.
The evolution of the Jeep customer continues to move to a more modern experience, with about 600 customers purchasing their new 4xe online during the month of April. A trend that continues to grow since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“This record share bears the signature of the Made-In-Italy Renegade SUV – the best-selling rechargeable car in its segment – and Compass 4xe – the best-selling LEV model ever – and our iconic Wrangler 4xe,” said Alessandro Grosso, Country Manager of Jeep Italy. “But above all this success is important as it once again underlines the brand’s commitment to building a zero-emissions future, a mission called “Zero Emission Freedom”, which started two years ago with the launch of Renegade and Compass 4xe, is recently continued with the Wrangler 4xe and will soon be able to count on the fifth generation of Grand Cherokee 4xe, our flagship for the first time in an electrified version.”
Thanks to their PHEV technology, Jeep 4xe models are some of the most fun-to-drive SUVs ever, capable of the brand’s motto of “Go Anywhere, Do Anything”. At the same time, they are ideal cars for daily city driving, thanks to PHEV technology that allows you to travel with zero co2 emissions and an urban range of about 50 kilometers (31 miles) in full-electric range.
Parallel to the success of the 4xe models, the brand’s strategy continues towards the development of increasingly sustainable mobility with the launch continues to grow with the launch of the new e-Hybrid models of the Compass and Renegade. The e-Hybrid front-wheel-drive models add mild-hybrid (HEV) technology to the lineup and offer customers a further opportunity to approach the electrified range and takes another step in the electrification process.
On another note, MoparInsiders.com is gearing up to launch 4xeforum.com, a dedicated forum for 4xe owners to engage together focusing on the entire lineup of 4xe products from the Jeep brand. Over the next few weeks, there will be several new updates, and we will be officially rolling it out later this month.
