Continuing to dominate the Brazilian market, FIAT ended June as the best-selling nameplate as it did for the entire first half of the year. At the top of the sales rankings, the Italian brand secured 21.9% of the market share and over 187,000 units sold from January to June. In total, FIAT has led the industry in the Brazilian marketplace for 18 consecutive months.
The all-new Fiat Pulse B-segment SUV, launched in October 2021, is one of the main highlights of the brand. It stood out in a highly-competitive segment (the largest in Brazil and that represents 37% of the total market). In less than a year, the Pulse has already earned more than 10% of the segment, with around 25,000 units sold, and was the best-selling SUV in the country in April.
When it comes to pickup trucks, the FIAT brand dominates the market. In another highlight in the first half of 2022, FIAT earned 51.9% of the pickup market. Over 1 of every 2 trucks sold in Brazil, is a FIAT.
The subcompact Strada pickup leads the Brazilian and Latin American market in the first 6 months of the year with a whopping 93% of the segment’s marketshare. The compact Toro also has been selling well and is the best-selling pickup in its segment, with 85% of its marketshare.
So far this year, FIAT has secured 3 of the 10 best-selling nameplates in the country: Strada, Mobi, and Toro. The electric 500e city car which was launched around a year ago has already become the 7th best-selling electric vehicle (EV) in the country.
But the brand isn’t looking to stop there, instead, it is launching more vehicles. In the second half of this year, the Fiat Scudo van and long-awaited Fiat Fastback SUV will come to market.
For June, the brand reached 21% of the market share, with 34,862 units sold. In addition, Strada continues to be the best-selling vehicle in the domestic market with 9,840 units in the 6th month of the year. FIAT also placed two more models in the top-10 of the month, with the Cronos in 6th place with 6,048 units sold, and the Pulse in 10th with 4,839 vehicles sold.
