Here Is Everything You Need To Know About The 2023 Jeep® Wagoneer (WS)!

HEMI-Power Still Offered On Lower Level Models...

The Jeep® Wagoneer (WS) enters its second year of production, as the brand’s entry-level premium full-size SUV offering. While the 2022 model had an extended run and added different equipment as it went along, there are several changes going into 2023 that you should be aware of, if you are in the market for one of these new Wagoneers.

Powertrain –

Twin-Turbocharged 3.0-liter GME-T6 H.O. (Hurricane) inline-six-cylinder engine. (Jeep).

For the 2023 model year, the Wagoneer Series II and Series III will receive a powertrain upgrade with the introduction of Chrysler Group’s all-new twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter Hurricane standard-output (S.O.) inline-six-cylinder engine. The new inline-six engine is 15% more efficient than the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 it replaces and produces an amazing 420 horsepower and 468 lb.-ft. of torque.

But if the new twin-turbocharged engine has you leary, the Wagoneer Series I will continue on with the mighty 5.7-liter HEMI V8 fitted with the next-generation eTorque mild-hybrid system. The HEMI is rated at 392 horsepower and 404 lb.-ft. of torque. The eTorque 48-volt hybrid system, as well as cylinder deactivation and Variable Cam Timing (VCT), make it the most fuel-conscious 5.7-liter HEMI yet.

Both engines will be paired to a ZF-sourced 8-speed 8HP75 automatic transmission, allowing for smooth and fast shifting.

Four-Wheel Drive –

2023 Jeep® Wagoneer Series II with the Advanced All-Terrain Group. (Jeep).

Three available 4×4 systems (Quadra-Trac I, Quadra-Trac II, and Quadra-Drive II), an available Quadra-Lift air suspension, and a Selec-Terrain traction management system instill this premium SUV with legendary capability. Quadra-Trac I delivers full-time four-wheel drive without any switches to push or levers to pull. The system provides smooth operation of the vehicle over a variety of road conditions. This proven, lightweight single-speed transfer case is efficient for enhanced fuel economy and improves traction by moving torque to the wheel with the most grip. A mechanical rear limited slip differential is standard.

The Quadra-Trac II two-speed transfer case uses input from a variety of sensors to determine tire slip at the earliest possible moment and takes corrective action. The system also uses the throttle to anticipate quick movement from a stop and maximizes traction before tire slippage occurs. When wheel slippage is detected, as much as 100% of available torque is instantly routed to the wheel with the most traction.

Quadra-Drive II, with a rear electronic limited-slip differential (eLSD), delivers industry-leading tractive capability. The system instantly detects tire slip and smoothly distributes engine torque to tires with traction. In some cases, the vehicle will anticipate low traction and adjust in order to proactively limit or eliminate slip.

Exterior –

2023 Jeep® Wagoneer Series III 4×4. (Jeep).

Wagoneer models feature premium LED headlamps, fog lamps, taillights and signature daytime running lights, accent badging, and a standard side step. Front tow hooks are incorporated into Wagoneer’s front end when equipped with the Heavy Duty Trailer Tow package. To protect critical vehicle components, the optional Advanced All Terrain Package on Wagoneer features four aluminum skid plates, including one for the lower front fascia, fuel tank, transfer case, and front suspension. Available Quadra-Lift air suspension delivers up to 10 inches (25 cm) of ground clearance combined with the Selec-Terrain traction management system to instill Wagoneer with its legendary capability.

From the rear, LED taillamps that stretch from the rear quarter panel to the liftgate achieve an upscale appearance. Unique “Series” badging on the liftgate showcases how a particular vehicle is configured in a subtle way. A Class IV hitch is integrated into the rear bumper and capable of towing up to 10,000 lbs (4,536 kg), no matter if it’s powered by the HEMI or Hurricane engine.

Interior –

With standard seating for 8 passengers on all models, Wagoneer models feature a spacious third-row – a first for the nameplate. Second-row captain’s chairs are available on Wagoneer and offer more comfort and space than any other vehicle in the segment.

A one-piece instrument panel accentuates the grandeur of the interior with a mid-bolster that gracefully integrates advanced technology and connectivity. The 2023 Wagoneer features the latest, most advanced Uconnect system ever, with a 10.1 inch (25.6 cm) digital display and intuitive user experience. Wagoneer is available with 50 inches (127 cm) of total Digital Display screen area.

Available on Wagoneer Series III, the McIntosh MX950 Entertainment System, a custom-tuned 19-speaker system, including a 10-inch (25.4 cm) subwoofer, are strategically placed throughout the interior, and powered by a 17-channel 950-watt amplifier. An available 10.25-inch (25.7 cm.) passenger screen features three major functions: Co-Pilot (navigation, device management), entertainment (via HDMI or Rear Seat Entertainment control), and the ability to view the exterior vehicle cameras.
