No. They showed a barracuda (convertible IIRC) way back in 2013 to the dealers and they shot it down, they said just make the challenger better - and they did with great success.

From a displacement perspective not power displacement. Not getting downsized.
Interior space will be the same as the current model??Not getting downsized.

Perspective is everything. I've been on several ICE trains in Germany doing 250 km/hr (155 MPH). At least you can see some scenery. I'd rather be on the train going that fast for 4 hours than trying to drive the same distance on the Autobahn at over 100 MPH in spurts. Driving fast is fun...but driving fast for long stretches is just work, particularly at night. I've driven in heavy high speed traffic on the Autobahn for multiple hours at a stretch. It wears you out at times, especially when there's lots of turning involved. That was in an E46 320d, 2018 timeframe. The trip I recall was coming back to Grafenwoehr (east of Nuremberg) from Muenster, through Kassel - Fulda area. You want a hotrod, maybe BEV ain't for you, but if you're buying transportation, which is actually what most people buy, BEV will eventually (pun intended) ice the ICE.Have any of you rode a bullet train or a high speed train. Sure most of you have ridden in plane. It is boring.
Exactly people who own a Honda or Toyota appliance will hardly notice the distance... Dodge is playing with fire because its customer base darn well will..Perspective is everything. That COULD offer Dodge a positive in the nascent Plug-In/BEV market overall though. Because their niche has been performance, the Dodge customer base are looking at torque and 0-60, overall power and lap times, and are used to a sportier ride than those looking at Toyotas. EVs have certain performance advantages, and with their focus on power as a brand, Dodge may get a boost over traditional mainstream brands. It’s one area where they could get a “jump” on the competition. Safety and reliability will never be synonymous with CDJR, so they have to play to another strength.Exactly people who own a Honda or Toyota appliance will hardly notice the distance... If all you look at is current customer base, Dodge is screwed anyway, long term. Time to throw out the FCA branding and stop pretending all Dodge is is a performance brand that sells blue collar hotrods. It's a blue collar brand that has traditionally sold hotrod versions.Exactly people who own a Honda or Toyota appliance will hardly notice the distance... There is nothing blue collar about a redeye charger or challenger. Have you seen the price increases on all of them in the past 5 years? They finally got their American AMG brand, thats for sure.If all you look at is current customer base, Dodge is screwed anyway, long term. Even when you take into account how much you have to spend to get nearly 800 horsepower elsewhere? You're not getting 800 HP for under $150K from Ferrari. Even if we agree north of $70K isn't exactly blue-collar, there's no denying that Dodge offers insane performance (or at least horsepower) for far less money than others do.There is nothing blue collar about a redeye charger or challenger. In addition to John Elkann and Richard Palmer (the largest shareholder & Chairman, the CFO) FCA branding folks are in power especially in North and South America. I hope someone in Auburn Hills is paying attention enough to notice there needs to be a blue collar BEV. The battery electric power space race is becoming absurd. Three engines and 800v charging, seriously? Back when GM killed the EV1, the electric car proponents were pointing out the simplicity and reduced maintenance the battery electric powertrain offered at that time.If all you look at is current customer base, Dodge is screwed anyway, long term. Moreover, the Scat Pack models and base Hellcats still exist. There are more models than just the top Hellcats...
When you realize how much money some blue collar jobs can actually make, and the blue collar roots of many small business owners, not to mention the blue collar roots of the cars themselves, they're expensive blue collar hotrods. Especially when you consider the BASE price for the cheapest *comparable* AMG - the GT 43 - is $90+. and the GT Coupe starts at $118k.There is nothing blue collar about a redeye charger or challenger. Have you seen the price increases on all of them in the past 5 years? They finally got their American AMG brand, thats for sure.
This defeats my point... how exactly? Must I own one to state the obvious? No. Moreover, you're assuming you know who I am (and thus my job). I don't have a Hellcat/Redeye because I work a blue-collar job, I don't have a Hellcat/Redeye because I don't work a blue-collar job. It's not smart to assume you know someone that well when they've just interacted with you in this thread.I know, which one do you have?
