Rare, Track-Focused Viper To Cross Auction Block In Vegas...

In the high-octane world of American muscle cars, few names command as much respect and admiration as the Dodge Viper. Regarding track-focused, performance-oriented weaponry, the 2009 Dodge Viper SRT-10 ACR (American Club Racer) stands out as the ultimate beast of the late 2000s. This remarkable specimen is ready to mark history as it graces the auction block at the 2023 Mecum Las Vegas event.

The 2009 Dodge Viper SRT-10 ACR was more than just a car; it was a statement of power and precision. With an odometer that reads a mere 967 miles, this particular Viper ACR has been remarkably preserved, a true time capsule of automotive excellence.

The ACR variant of the Viper was designed with one purpose in mind: to dominate the race track. Its aerodynamic enhancements were a testament to this goal. A carbon-fiber front splitter, front canards, and an adjustable carbon-fiber rear wing not only added a touch of aggression to its appearance but also significantly improved its performance around corners. Generating an astonishing 1,000 pounds of downforce at 150 mph, this Viper’s aerodynamics ensured its tires were planted firmly on the asphalt.

The front splitter wasn’t just for show; it featured removable protective wear-resistant rub strips, and stainless steel tension cables offered the necessary support to absorb energy from minor upward deflections. Using high-performance autoclaved carbon fiber contributed to reducing weight, while lightweight filler panels replaced the front fog lamps. Gloss black lightweight forged aluminum Sidewinder wheels were fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup DOT-approved (street-legal) race tires, perfectly completing the exterior’s sporty look.

This Viper SRT-10 ACR boasts a signature two-tone paint scheme with a bold black center section. An optional driver’s stripe with a sewn leather accent on the steering wheel adds a personalized touch. Alternatively, a monotone paint scheme with a body-color rear wing and dual-painted stripes was available for those who preferred a more understated appearance.

Inside, you’ll find a black interior with bucket seats, a console, a tilt steering column, a black and red steering wheel, air conditioning, and an AM/FM/CD stereo. A 220 MPH speedometer hints at the Viper’s astonishing capabilities. Power windows, locks, and mirrors are among the modern amenities, providing comfort and convenience in this high-performance machine.

Under the hood, the 2009 Dodge Viper SRT-10 ACR packs a punch. Its heart and soul are an 8.4-liter (512 cubic-inch) VIPER V10 engine, developed in collaboration with McLaren Automotive and Ricardo Consulting Engineers. This powerplant produces a jaw-dropping 600 horsepower and 560 lb.-ft. of torque, making it an absolute force to be reckoned with.

The engine’s enhancements include better-flowing heads with larger valves, Mechadyne cam-in-cam variable valve timing on the exhaust cam lobes, and dual electronic throttle bodies. These modifications result in improved valvetrain stability, allowing the rev limit to be raised by 300 rpm. An electronic engine control developed by Continental AG further enhances the Viper’s performance. This controller can monitor the crankshaft and cylinder position up to six times during each firing, offering ten times more processing power than the previous unit. Paired with a Tremec TR-6060 6-speed manual transmission, the Viper ACR delivers a driving experience like no other.

This low-mile 2009 Dodge Viper SRT-10 ACR, with its breathtaking Viper White and Viper Red Stripe exterior, is rare. With its impeccable condition and breathtaking performance, it is poised to make waves at the 2023 Mecum Las Vegas auction.
