Jeep® Gives Us A Quick Peek At The All-New Grand Cherokee Summit 4xe!

Jeep's Newest Plug-In Hybrid Looks Stunning...

The all-new three-row 2021 Jeep® Grand Cherokee L, the first of a trio of new models of the new fifth-generation Grand Cherokee (WL) and is currently arriving in dealer showrooms in both the United States and Canada. While the new Grand Cherokee L (WL75) is offering customers a seven-passenger option for the Grand Cherokee nameplate for the first time, it isn’t for everyone. The core Grand Cherokee customers have been waiting for the Jeep brand to unveil its two-row Grand Cherokee (WL74) offering, which is scheduled to debut in the third quarter of this year.

During this morning’s Stellantis EV Day 2021 press conference, we were given a very brief preview of the all-new two-row Grand Cherokee 4xe. While no new information was provided, we did get to see a few very quick shots of the top-tier 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit 4xe.

Featuring a two-tone Bright White exterior color with a Black painted roof, the new Summit 4xe looks stunning. Highlighting the exterior, a chrome daylight opening (DLO) trim runs over the greenhouse’s windows and wraps down the D-pillar, and continues underneath the rear glass.

A charging port door is located in front of the driver-side A-pillar, similar to the Wrangler Unlimited 4xe. The charging door features the “e” from the 4xe logo and is well blended into the design of the exterior, not taking away from the two-row Grand Cherokee’s styling.

Among the first spy photos of the two-row Grand Cherokee (WL74), MoparInsiders.com was the first to announce that the WL74 would feature a unique front fascia compared to its WL75 counterpart. Today, we have our best chance yet to see the front-end styling undisrupted by the swirling camouflage print we have come accustomed to seeing.

While it looks similar to the Grand Cherokee L, the Grand Cherokee features a much larger lower grille opening. The LED fog lamps are more titled on an angle, with the body-colored fascia fitting around the fog light assemblies rather than the almost free-floating look of the Grand Cherokee L units.

Even though we did not get a look at the interior, we expect it to be identical to the Grand Cherokee L’s (without the third-row, of course).

We can expect the Grand Cherokee 4xe and the standard Grand Cherokee (WL74) models to get a proper introduction at the 2021 New York International Auto Show in August.

You know what I said to you. You will prefer it over 3 row version.
