First Fiat 500e (RED) For U.S. Rolls Off The Assembly Line

Marks A Very Important Milestone The FIAT USA Desperately Needs...

This week marked a significant milestone for the FIAT brand, as the first all-electric Fiat 500e vehicles destined for the United States rolled off the production line at the Mirafiori Assembly Plant in Turin, Italy. This chic and feature-packed two-door electric vehicle (EV) has already generated buzz, with its initial dealer allocation selling out in less than a week.

What makes the Fiat 500e stand out? Well, it’s the lightest passenger EV on the market. Equipped with a 42-kilowatt-hour (kWh) battery, it boasts an estimated range of 149 miles on a single charge. And speaking of charging, with a Level 2 charger, you can juice it up in about four hours and 15 minutes.

“We’re thrilled that the Fiat 500e has officially begun its journey to reach customers in North America,” said Olivier Francois, FIAT CEO and CMO global of Stellantis. “The 500e registered more than 185,000 units worldwide since its launch and is playing a relevant role in the green transition of cities across the globe, continuing the brand’s electrification journey.”

The Fiat 500e has already made waves in Europe, leading the electric city-car market for two consecutive years and earning accolades as FIAT’s most-awarded vehicle ever. Its success across the pond has set the stage for an eagerly anticipated launch in North America.

To kick things off, Fiat is introducing the Fiat 500e (RED) Edition, a collaboration with (RED) to create the coolest and most ethical urban mobility option. Sporting stylish red accents inside and out, including red-painted mirrors and a striking red dashboard, this edition makes a fashion statement and supports a good cause. A portion of the proceeds from every (RED) product, including the Fiat 500e (RED) Edition, goes to the Global Fund to support vital health programs in needy communities.

Now, let’s talk price. The 2024 Fiat 500e comes with a U.S. Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $32,500 plus a destination fee of $1,595. But here’s the kicker—thanks to government tax rebates available in participating states, you might be able to snag one at an even lower cost. And to sweeten the deal, every Fiat 500e comes with a Level 2 charging wall unit or public charging credits through Free2move Charge, making the transition to electric driving a breeze.

The Fiat 500e isn’t just a car—it’s a statement. With its blend of Italian flair, eco-conscious design, and practicality, it’s poised to make waves on American roads as it ushers in a new era of electric mobility. So, get ready to turn heads and drive green with the Fiat 500e.

Suspect being mislabeled as anti-electric (shame, shame) since I oppose most all-electric brand agendas and this is an electric I CAN support. I see this grocery getter friendly electric as a perfect around town car. I also believe Fiat, of the brands in the Stellantis portfolio, to be the most natural fit for a viable electric and the spearhead to re-launch Fiat in North America.
One should not ignore the Fiar successes in Brazil as a harbinger of things that might come from Fiat if and when this Fiat 500e opens the door to a resurgent Fiat in our domestic market place. Remember you heard it from me here so avoid those labels that don’t apply to this guy. Shocking I know !

I can't help but notice in addition to the high speed charging claims, Fiat also touts the 500e level-two charging times. Owners with a garage or even just a private driveway could set up level 2 home charging. Four hours seems like forever if one is on the road, but charging at home or work is good.

Another thing I like about the Fiat 500e is that it is a real car. A tiny car perhaps, but the instrument panel and controls have real physical buttons and switches. I hate these laminate touchscreens and tablet glued to the dashboard controls.

I missed this until today's post, that the word FIAT is missing from places like the steering wheel, the dashboard, the front cowl, etc. I see that is also missing for the EU version so nothing suggestive I suppose.
