We Get A Sneak Peak At Fiat’s New Midsize Pickup Truck!

While the focus on upcoming electric vehicles (EVs) in North America continues, the South American pickup market is heating up, with Stellantis making its move. Ram, known for its pickups in North America, is positioned as a premium brand in Latin America. However, Fiat reigns as the top-selling pickup brand in the region.

Fiat has been successful with its two small monoblock pickups, the subcompact Fiat Strada and the compact Fiat Toro, capturing over 50% of the pickup truck sales in Brazil. But Fiat isn’t resting on its laurels. It is now introducing a new proper midsized pickup called the Fiat Titano, which will rival vehicles like the Ford Ranger and Chevrolet S-10 (Colorado).

The Fiat Titano is based on the Peugeot Landtrek and will be produced alongside it in Uruguay, according to the Brazilian publication Autos Segredos. The midsized pickup will be powered by a 2.2-liter turbodiesel engine generating 200 horsepower and 332 lb.-ft. of torque. It will be available with both a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission and standard 4×4 capability.

However, the Titano will not feature the 2.4-liter turbodiesel engine found in the Jeep® Commander and Ram Rampage offerings.

The top-tier Titano model is expected to have a 10-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 360-degree camera, keyless entry, 18-inch aluminum wheels, chrome accents, LED headlamps, front and rear parking sensors, and running boards.

The Fiat Titano is set to arrive in Brazilian Fiat dealer showrooms in the second half of this year, aiming to strengthen Fiat’s dominance in the South American pickup market.
