SPOTTED: 2021 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack Widebody Shaker:
New Buzz Model Spotted Out Testing On Public Roads...

Two weeks ago, Dodge announced that it would be expanding its Widebody Package option for the Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack to include two popular heritage models for the 2021 model year with the R/T Scat Pack Shaker and the T/A 392 buzz models. The news comes after the success of the limited edition 2020 Dodge Challenger 50th Anniversary Edition Widebody models, which were based on the R/T Scat Pack Widebody trim and added the iconic Shaker hood to that package.

As the model name suggests, the legendary “cold-air grabbing” Shaker not only looks good with its Satin Black center-mounted hood scoop, snorkeling up from the engine compartment, it also directs cooler air back into the 6.4-liter (392 cubic-inch) HEMI® V8 engine. And like the original 1970 Challenger R/T with the Shaker hood, the 2021 model continues the Dodge tradition of an engine-mounted hood scoop that “shakes” with the powertrain’s movement. The 6.4-liter delivers 485 horsepower and 475 lb.-ft. of torque, customers can choose from either the standard 6-speed TR-6060 Tremec manual transmission or the optional 8-speed 8HP70 TorqueFlite automatic transmission. Paddle shifters come standard on automatic models.

The Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack Widebody adds 3.5-inches to the overall width of the standard R/T Scat Pack. Stick 305/35ZR20 Pirelli tires are mounted to 20-inch x 11-inch aluminum wheels. The R/T Scat Pack Widebody also adds several high-performance features like Launch Control, Launch Assist, Line Lock, SRT Drive Modes, and SRT Performance Pages.
The Challenger R/T Scat Pack Widebody also adds an SRT-tuned chassis, featuring stiffer front springs, retuned shock absorbers, and larger sway bars in both front and rear. The Widebody adds other SRT features like SRT-tuned high-performance adaptive damping suspension, SRT-engineered Brembo brake system with 6-piston front and 4-piston rear calipers, and the rear spoiler from the Hellcat models to deliver more downforce and better balance at high speed.

This week, our spy photographers caught the new 2021 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack Shaker Widebody out testing on the streets of Metro Detroit. The Frostbite color Shaker Widebody looks good in a real-world setting. The new Shaker Package for the 2021 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack includes…
- “Shaker” Under Hood Decal
- Shaker Mounted 392 HEMI Badge
- SHAKER Instrument Panel Badge
- Gloss Black Instrument Cluster Trim Rings
- Shaker Hood by Mopar®
- Shaker Intake by Mopar®
- Satin Black Rear Spoiler
- White Face Instrument Cluster
Buyers who opt for the Widebody Package will get the same Widebody performance as the R/T Scat Pack Widebody, which includes improvement of close to 2-seconds per lap or 12 car lengths compared with the non-Widebody R/T Scat Pack. In a quarter-mile comparison, the Challenger R/T Scat Pack Widebody gains .2-seconds, running a 12.1-second ET at 112 mph (180 km/h).

The Challenger R/T Scat Pack Shaker Widebody has a starting U.S. Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $47,690 (all prices exclude $1,495 destination charge). For Canadians, the MSRP is $63,495 (all prices exclude $1,895 destination charge). Dealer orders for the Challenger R/T Scat Pack Shaker Widebody are now open, with vehicles scheduled to arrive in Dodge//SRT dealerships early next year.
