Forget The 392 HEMI, How About A 397 HEMI Instead?

R/T Life Builds Up His 5.7-liter To A New 6.5-liter Configuration...

Our friend and contributor R/T Life, has been on the quest to find the most bang for the dollar performance for his 2015 Dodge Charger R/T’s 5.7-liter HEMI V8. He has had his ups and downs, showing us a lot of bolt-on ideas that many of us 5.7-liter HEMI V8 owners have done over the years. But there comes a point in time when you can only bolt-on so much and you have to step things up to the next level.

So R/T Life’s 5.7-liter (345 cubic-inch) HEMI V8 went under the knife at Jannetty Racing in Waterbury, Connecticut, to create something that will amp up the search of more horsepower for his Charger R/T. Enter a new modified version of his original HEMI to a cammed 6.5-liter (397 cubic-inch) configuration. Forget the Scat Pack’s 392 SRT HEMI V8, we have seen some pretty crazy builds using the 5.7-liter HEMI as the basis and this might be the start for another one.

Now R/T Life is just jumping to forced-induction just yet, but this new version of his original HEMI will be a work in progress. The motor still has to be fine-tuned, but there is now a new platform to step up the horsepower and torque numbers.

So what do you think of a 6.5-liter (397 cubic-inch) HEMI V8? How much horsepower and torque, do you think the new layout will make? Leave your comments below.
