CAUGHT: 2019 Ram Heavy Duty Limited Interior:

We Get Our Best Look Yet, At The Top Tier Heavy Duty...

One of our avid readers has sent us high-resolution photos they captured of the new 2019 Ram Heavy Duty Limited interior. This is the first time, we have seen the interior in such detail. We can now give you a breakdown, of what sets the top of the line Ram Heavy Duty interior apart from 2019 Ram 1500.

As we mentioned before the 12.1-inch UConnect screen will make its appearance in the 2019 Ram Heavy Duty lineup. However, there is a few differences between the 2019 Ram 1500 and the 2019 Ram Heavy Duty is that when you opt for the the auxiliary switches, you will lose the toggle switches and gain two banks of push buttons like on the current Heavy Dutys. These banks contain the tow haul mode, diesel exhaust brake and buttons to turn off the front and rear park assist. Underneath you have six auxiliary switches.

A few other things to note is the trim piece where the rotary shifter and 4×4 controls are on the 1500s just has the 4×4 controls along with a Heavy Duty script up top and a 4×4 symbol beside the push buttons for the transfer case. The push buttons are new for 2019, moving away from a knob selector for the 4×4 controls. Also notably missing compared to the Ram 1500 are the buttons for lane keep assist and auto park. This particular truck is powered by the Cummins diesel, and more than likely has a hydraulic steering rack which would not allow those features to work, whether lane keep assist and auto park is available in any other combination for the 2019 Heavy Dutys we currently do not know.

Even though there is a completely new steering wheel design, the steering wheel buttons will be familiar to current Ram Heavy Duty owners with the addition of controls for the adaptive cruise control that we previously mentioned was coming. Gear limit controls are in the same spot as the all-new 2019 Ram 1500.

This wider angle shot provides a look at the center console, which is the same as the 2019 Ram 1500 and you can also see the RamCharger wireless charging pad at the back of the cell phone holder. This center console has been raved about for its vast amount of storage and configurability with the sliding cup holders and trays. The column shifter is back and to the right of the steering wheel.

On the door panel we see a new button ahead of the mirror controls, that looks like it could be a power fold button for the new tow mirrors. Memory buttons have also moved from the seat to the door panel. A very welcomed addition for the 2019 model year.

Speaking of the door panel, it seems to be a blend of current 4th Gen door panels with changes made above the armrest area that match up with the door panels on the all-new 2019 Ram 1500. We also see that the 19-speaker Harmon/Kardon stereo will be available in the new Heavy Dutys evidenced by the new speaker grilles and tweeter mounted up high on the door panel.

We will see more of this truck’s interior next month in Detroit at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS). HDRams will be there to cover the unveiling of this awesome heavily revised 2019 Ram Heavy Duty Limited.
