Ram Announces The Final Installment Of It “Built To Serve” Edition Lineup:

Coast Guard Inspired Series Will Mark End Of Special Edition Lineup...

Yesterday, we discussed how the first batch of the fourth installment of the Ram 1500 Big Horn “Built to Serve” Edition pickups were finally arriving in dealer showrooms. This morning, the RAM brand has announced that it is now launching its fifth and final installment of the limited edition series.

2020 and 2021 Ram 1500 Big Horn “Built To Serve” Edition Series. (Ram).

Based on the 2021 Ram 1500 Big Horn 4×4, the “Built to Serve Edition” pickups celebrate America’s five land, sea, and air-based armed forces. Each of the five United States military service branches has been or will be honored by RAM with two specially selected exterior paint colors that evoke the spirit, the mission, and the history of that service. Each of the brand’s “Built to Serve Edition” models are being offered in a new low-volume paint option exclusive to this program.

The five installments have included the following…

2020 Ram 1500 Big Horn “Built to Serve” Edition in Gator. (Ram).

ARMY – 

The first installment released in 2020, was inspired by those who protect and defend on land. The interior came custom with contrasting graystone seat fabric and light front interior stitching. Customers could choose from 1,000 Diamond Black units (SOLD OUT) or 1,000 Gator-colored units (SOLD OUT).

2020 Ram 1500 Big Horn “Built To Serve” Special Edition in Patriot Blue. (Ram).

NAVY – 

The second installment also released in 2020, featured 1,000 units of Ceramic Gray (SOLD OUT) and 1,000 units of Patriot Blue inspired by those who help keep us safe on the seas. The interior came custom with contrasting blue seat fabric and light ambassador blue interior stitching. 

2021 Ram 1500 Big Horn “Built To Serve” Edition in Anvil. (Ram).

AIR FORCE – 

Available in either 1,250 units of Anvil or 1,500 units Billet Silver, the third installment represented those who help to keep our skies safe. Those trucks came custom with contrasting graystone seat fabric and light diesel gray interior stitching.

2021 Ram 1500 Big Horn “Built to Serve” Edition in Tank. (Ram).

MARINES – 

As we said earlier, the fourth installment of the “Build to Serve” Edition is now arriving in dealer showrooms. Available in either 1,000 units in Tank or 1,000 units in Flame Red, these trucks are inspired by the few and the proud. The fourth installment trucks come with medium graystone interior stitching.

2021 Ram 1500 Big Horn “Built To Serve” Edition in Spitfire. (Ram).

COAST GUARD – 

Announced today, the fifth and final installment is inspired by the maritime force that protects our coast. Available in 500 units of Spitfire and 750 units of Bright White exterior colors offered along with a black interior with orange accent stitching.

2021 Ram 1500 Big Horn “Built To Serve” Edition with Orange Accents. (Ram).

These new Ram models are also ready to display their owner’s military pride with “Built to Serve”-embroidered Velcro panels on each front seat and additional Velcro panels on each front seat inboard shoulder panel. Buyers can apply their own patches – regimental, flags, name tapes, or slogans – to personalize their “Built to Serve Edition.” Front seatback panels are covered with Pouch Attachment Ladder System/Modular Lightweight Load-bearing Equipment (PALS/MOLLE) webbing to attach additional equipment or pouches.

For those looking for the Mopar lockable console storage, it will now be offered as an option on the “Built to Serve Edition”. It can be ordered upon purchase and installed by the dealer.

The 2021 Ram 1500 Big Horn “Built to Serve Edition” 4×4 model is available in Quad Cab or Crew Cab configurations. The “Built to Serve Edition” can be equipped with four powertrain options all of which are mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission…

  • 3.6-liter eTorque Pentastar V-6 engine, delivering 305 horsepower and 269 lb.-ft. of torque
  • 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V-6 engine, delivering 260 horsepower and 480 lb.-ft. of torque
  • 5.7-liter HEMI® V-8 with variable-valve timing (VVT), 395 horsepower and 410 lb.-ft. of torque
  • 5.7-liter eTorque HEMI V-8 with VVT, 395 horsepower and 410 lb.-ft. of torque

The fourth installment of the 2021 Ram 1500 Big Horn “Built to Serve Edition” 4×4 will start production in the second quarter of 2021 at the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant (SHAP) in Sterling Heights, Michigan.
