“These are numbers of very different proportions from other Jeep models, such as Compass or Renegade, but it is very worthwhile to highlight this relevant growth. The Jeep Wrangler is part of a specific vehicle niche, with adventurous, passionate, and loyal customers. Our goal with him is not even to have large volumes. It is the ultimate icon of DNA Jeep, representing the spirit and authenticity that customers crave. With the pandemic, the automotive industry saw a huge change in its numbers. However, the Jeep Wrangler was able to row against the tide. Not only did it escape the drop in marketing, but it also managed to increase.
The stock of the first batch of the new Rubicon, which was launched in Brazil in late April, ended in three months even though it was the top of the range. In addition, the Sahara version has accelerated sales a lot. Undoubtedly, it is a different model, the customer insists on having the Wrangler because he knows what he wants – all the freedom, tradition, and off-road capability of the Jeep that he translates ”, says Alexandre Aquino, senior manager of the Brand Jeep for Latin America.
Produced at the original Jeep factory in Toledo, Ohio, the Jeep Wrangler is available in the Brazilian market as a Sahara, Unlimited Sahara Overland, and Unlimited Rubicon. All of them come with the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine delivering 270 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque and mated to an 8-speed automatic.
The Wrangler Rubicon, the most recent version launched in Brazil and maximum representation of the legacy and DNA of the Jeep brand. In addition to the most modern and advanced systems of traction, safety, and all the embedded electronics, the Jeep Wrangler was designed to overcome the most difficult obstacles. A best-in-class approach angle of 44 degrees, breakover angle of 27.8 degrees, departure angle of 37 degrees, and a ground clearance of 10.9 inches help the Jeep Wrangler scale the toughest terrain.
