Jeep® Sales Grow By 6.7% In Germany Despite A Slow Market!

Jeep Makes The Move To A Complete LEV Portfolio...

The Jeep® brand continues to have success in the European marketplace, including the country of Germany. In the first half of the year, there were a total of 7,452 new registrations of Jeep vehicles registered with the Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA). Compared to the same period last year, Jeep sales increased by 6.7% or 468 new registrations. Jeep prevailed in an extremely difficult market environment against an 11% downward trend in new registrations.

In the SUV segment, Jeep achieved a market share of 5.3% in the first half of 2022 and 4.4% in the period from January to June.

The high proportion of low-emission vehicles (LEVs) in new registrations is also remarkable. While LEVs account for 24.8% of the overall market, 57% of all Jeep vehicles sold in the first half of 2022 were LEVs. Jeep thus significantly exceeded its LEV share in the same period last year (27%). In the volume segments of small and compact SUVs, Jeep has been offering its Renegade and Compass models exclusively with electrified models since May. This also includes a switch to only offering the iconic Wrangler in 4xe form as well.

“The very pleasing half-year result motivates us to make further significant gains with the new Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe, which will be available from our dealers in the second half of the year,” stated Luigi Saia, Head of the Jeep Brand in Germany.
