Jeep® Teases Its All-New D-Segment Premium Wagoneer S Electric SUV!
New Electric Wagoneer, Will Be A Global Product For The Wagoneer Sub-Brand...
Jeep® looks to continue the growth of its Wagoneer premium sub-brand with the addition of the 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S (KX). Built around the upcoming 2024 Jeep Cherokee (KM), the new Wagoneer S will separate itself from the next-generation Cherokee as only being offered as a battery-electric vehicle (BEV).
While the full-size Grand Wagoneer/Wagoneer (WS) models fit perfectly in certain markets like the United States, Canada, and the Middle East, the Wagoneer S will be the first global product in Jeep’s new sub-brand portfolio to be intended for most markets.
The premium D-segment SUV looks very different than traditional Jeep models although it carries a number of Jeep cues. For instance, the Wagoneer S features a sleek and aerodynamic profile, something that is very different than the conventional Jeep product. There is even a hovering wheel design that the Jeep studio integrated into the rear of the vehicle (it reminds us of the active aero R-wing on the Charger Daytona SRT Banshee Concept).
The front of the vehicle features a completely new take on the traditional seven-slot grille. Angle upright, the seven-slot grille has breaks in it, while LED tracing lighting goes around the top of the slots. While the headlights are more horizontal and swept back for a faster and sleek look.
Wrapped around the STLA Large architecture, the new Wagoneer will feature a total of 600 horsepower and will feature a range of 400 miles. Our sources have told us, that the Wagoneer will feature a new 800-watt electrical architecture, which should drastically improve fast-charging speeds. And speaking of speeds, Jeep says the Wagoneer S will have a 0 to 60 mph (0 to 97 km/h) time of 3.5 seconds.
All Wagoneer S models will come standard with an electrified four-wheel drive (4xe) system. This includes the Jeep’s Selec-Terrain system offering the capability Jeep vehicles are known for.
“We’ll delight our customers with a premium, highly efficient SUV that is loaded with technology and high-quality craftsmanship, offering 4×4 capability, high performance, rapid acceleration, and a target range of 400 miles on a single charge,” added Christian Meunier, Jeep CEO.
The Wagoneer S also gives us a look at the overall size, that the next-generation Cherokee should be.
The all-new Wagoneer S will be on display across the auto show circuit and at different events throughout the year. Production is scheduled to begin in 2024 in North America. Customers in the U.S. will be able to make a reservation for the new all-electric Wagoneer S in early 2023. It will launch in North America first, before heading to Europe and then other parts of the globe.
