In a standout performance, Jeep® Brazil has emerged as the fastest-growing brand in the competitive Brazilian sport-utility vehicle (SUV) segment for the first quarter of 2024. With an impressive 14.3% market share, equivalent to 25,000 units sold, Jeep® has secured its position as a leader in the market, showcasing a remarkable growth of 1.4% compared to the previous quarter.
At the forefront of this success story is the ever-popular compact Compass. Throughout March, Jeep sold a whopping 3,971 units of the Compass in Brazil, capturing a significant 29.9% share among C-segment SUVs. This trend continued into the first quarter of 2024, with Jeep selling a total of 11,600 Compasses, claiming an impressive 33% market share in the ‘medium-sized’ SUV segment, solidifying its status as the best-selling SUV in Brazil for the year.
Not to be overshadowed, the smaller sibling of the Compass, the B-segment Renegade, has also been making waves in the Brazilian market. With its distinctive styling and undeniable appeal, the Brazilian-built Renegade saw sales of 3,881 units in March alone, commanding an 8.8% market share in the SUV segment. In Q1 2024, over 10,400 Renegades found homes, securing an 8.9% market share.
The success of these models can be attributed to their modern design, advanced technologies, enhanced safety features, and impressive performance, including the turbocharged 1.3-liter “T270” engine, delivering up to 185 horsepower, making it the most powerful in its category. Furthermore, the Renegade retains its off-road capabilities, a hallmark of all Jeeps, ensuring it appeals to a wide range of consumers.
Adding to Jeep Brazil’s impressive portfolio is the Brazilian-built Commander. This three-row D-segment SUV recorded over 3,200 units sold in Q1, constituting approximately 14% of the market share of large SUVs. With more than 1,000 units sold in March alone, the Commander continues to make its mark in the segment.
Built on the popular Jeep Compass’ Small-Wide 4×4 architecture, the Commander seamlessly combines on- and off-road capabilities, offering consumers the best of both worlds in a larger, three-row model. The Brazilian-built Commander’s success extends beyond Brazil, with exports to several countries in Latin America also achieving noteworthy sales results.
Overall, Jeep Brazil’s dominance in the SUV market for Q1 2024 is a testament to the brand’s commitment to delivering high-quality vehicles that meet the needs and desires of Brazilian consumers. With a diverse range of models catering to different segments, Jeep continues to solidify its position as a leader in the Brazilian automotive industry.
