Jeep® Brazil Builds Its 350,000th Jeep Renegade For Latin America:
Jeep Automotive Pole Celebrates Milestone...
Jeep® Brazil is celebrating the 350,000th of its Renegade by its Goiana, Pernambuco Assembly Plant (part of the Jeep Automotive Pole). The plant kicked off operations in 2015, with the launch of the then-new Renegade, and now produces the popular Jeep Compass and Fiat Toro pickup as well. The Renegade models currently produced at the plant are sold in 13 countries across Latin America including Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, and Chile.
At the moment, the Jeep Automotive Pole is the most modern Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) plant in the world. The plant is a truly global model for the company in the terms of innovation, productivity, and quality standards. According to FCA, the plant has a capacity to produce around 280,000 vehicles a year. The Jeep Automotive Pole has a total area of 118 million square foot area, houses not only the assembly plant but a Suppliers Park of 16 different companies manufacturing parts for the plant. The plant itself operates with three shifts to produce the Renegade, Compass, and Toro.
By 2025, resources directed to the Jeep Automotive Pole will total R $7.5 billion (or about $1.4 billion USD). The investments will be used in the expansion of the Supplier Park to help attract new companies to the region. This would result in more job opportunities and new businesses, in addition to investment in R&D with a focus on innovation.
“Renegade is a car that has a special symbol. It arrived with the legitimate heritage of the authentic Willys, with the iconic design that introduced the Jeep brand almost 80 years ago, and it is the model that helped to consolidate Jeep in Brazil in a decisive way ”, highlights Tânia Silvestri, director of Brand and Operations Commercials in Brazil.
The Renegade has been successful in the LATAM region since its launch and has consolidated its leadership among SUVs in the Brazilian market. Earlier this year, Jeep Brazil launched its new Renegade Moab model featuring the best turbodiesel engine in the segment. The Renegade Moab proudly wears the nameplate of the famed Moab Desert in Utah, where the iconic Moab Easter Jeep Safari takes place annually and has become an outdoor laboratory for the off-road brand.
