In a thrilling display of off-road prowess, the Jeep® brand is set to conquer the harsh terrains of the Nevada and Southern California desert in the eighth annual Rebelle Rally, scheduled from October 12th to 21st, 2023. Covering a grueling 1,500 miles, this off-road navigation rally is a true test of mettle, combining old-school navigation techniques, off-road camaraderie, and cutting-edge powertrains over eight challenging days.
For the eighth consecutive year, the Jeep brand proudly supports this event, and for the third time, they are unleashing the formidable Jeep Wrangler 4xe to secure the top podium finish.
Jim Morrison, the Senior Vice President and Head of Jeep® North America, expressed the brand’s commitment to pushing boundaries, stating, “We strive to build and deliver the best, most capable off-road 4×4 vehicles on the planet. Now that 4xe is the new 4×4, we continue to push the limits of our Jeep Wrangler 4xe at the Rebelle Rally, an extremely demanding off-road event.”
Morrison also highlighted the incredible community of Jeep owners who demand vehicles capable of extraordinary feats, reinforcing their dedication to showcasing the remarkable capabilities of the Wrangler 4xe.
The dynamic duo of Nena Barlow and Teralin Petereit will once again represent the Jeep brand for the third consecutive year. Operating under the banner of Team 4xEventure, they will commandeer a 2024 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 4xe, aiming to defend their titles in the overall, electrified, and bone stock categories.
Hailing from Arizona, Barlow is the owner and operator of Barlow Adventures, a venture offering four-wheel-drive training, Jeep rentals, and guided trips across the southwest U.S. Petereit, based in Utah, is a nurse with a passion for off-roading, amassing a wealth of experience on countless trails and in numerous competitions.
Barlow and Petereit are revered as two of the most accomplished Rebelle Rally veterans, with Petereit earning a podium finish every year she has competed. This marks their third year competing as a team, and their confidence in the Wrangler is unwavering. Barlow attests, “When the going gets tough, I have found nothing more capable than a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon.” She recounts a previous rally where they ran out of gas just a mile from the finish line, but the 4xe’s electric mode carried them to victory.
Petereit echoes this sentiment, emphasizing the Wrangler’s reliability and capability as a key factor in their consistent success. “Having confidence in our Wrangler to take us through whatever terrain the rally throws at us allows us to focus on collecting checkpoints,” she stated.
In an exciting collaboration with new Rebelle Rally partner Pennzoil, the Jeep brand supports the rookie team, Full Synd Sisters (#149), driving a stock Jeep Wrangler 4xe. Comprising sisters Alex and Megan Taylor, this dynamic duo is set to push the Wrangler 4xe to its limits, powered by Pennzoil Ultra Platinum motor oil known for its exceptional protection and wear resistance under extreme conditions.
Alex, a builder, creator, and professional driver, brings a wealth of experience from the world of high-performance vehicles. Megan, a graphic designer, photographer, and brand strategist, complements the team’s dynamic with her creative prowess.
The Taylor sisters express their excitement for this new off-roading venture, acknowledging the Jeep brand’s and Pennzoil’s support as pivotal in lessening initial stresses. “Our Wrangler 4xe is well equipped and more than capable to help our team cross the finish line,” affirms Alex Taylor.
The 2023 Rebelle Rally promises to be an intense showdown featuring 10 automakers and 65 teams from 28 states and three nations. With vehicle classes ranging from 4×4 to X-Cross, this year will see a surge of electrified vehicles competing in the unforgiving off-road environment. The rally kicks off on October 12th in Mammoth Lakes, California, concluding on October 21st in the Imperial Sand Dunes of Southern California. Jeep’s indomitable spirit and the Wrangler 4xe’s electrifying power are again set to dominate the desert.
