10,000 Miles On The Odometer...

In February 2017, Mopar unveiled the Mopar ’17 Dodge Challenger which helped to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of the service, parts, and customer-care brand of the now Stellantis group. The limited-edition Mopar ’17 Dodge Challenger was a head-turner thanks to its hand-painted two-tone exterior scheme and Mopar Custom Shop installed accessories.

Starting with the 2017 Dodge Challenger R/T 392 Shaker as its base, Mopar used both Contusion Blue and Billet Silver hues from the Dodge brand’s color palette. Using the Mopar Custom Shop, Mopar was able to achieve a striking two-tone appearance, thanks to an upper portion that was hand-painted in Pitch Black. A special Mopar 392 logo, was also hand-painted and also gave a custom touch.

The upper portion of the car’s exterior featured Pitch Black accents. A standard Satin Black “Shaker” hood scoop stood out thanks to the Pitch Black-colored hood. The rear decklid spoiler also was painted Pitch Black, however, it was fitted with a black “Mopar Design” badge. A set of 20-Inch x 9-Inch “Scat Pack” wheels feature Semi-Gloss accents and center caps with the “Dodge” logo. The car’s standard chrome exhaust tips were replaced with the black exhaust tips from a Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat.

Power came from the 6.4-liter (392 cubic-inch) HEMI® V8 delivering 485 horsepower (362 kW) and 475 lb.-ft. (644 N•m) of torque. The HEMI was mated to a 6-speed Tremec TR-6060 manual with a ZF-SACHS 240 mm twin-disc clutch as standard equipment.

A Mopar cold-air intake also helped deliver a performance boost thanks to its air catcher duct system via the headlamp. The upgrade fed additional cold air into the vehicle. Mopar also equipped the car with a set of strut tower braces and caps that were silver power-coated and helped to increase the rigidity and handling of the car. A set of Brembo® four-piston brakes were fitted on all four wheels.
