We here at MoparInsiders.com are huge fans of the Forza Motorsport and Horizon video game franchise. Many of our contributors, forum members and staff play the popular racing series on their Xbox One consoles or on their PCs. So we get very excited when new car packs become available, especially if they include Mopar products.
Back in January, Turn 10 Studios (the producers of the Forza series) worked closely with the world-famous automotive auction events company to select the vehicles for a new car pack named the Barrett-Jackson Car Pack. Seven historic collectible vehicles were chosen, two of which were popular Mopar cars of the past.
This past week, the Barrett-Jackson Car Pack was released for the open-world driving game, Forza Horizon 4. Included in the historic pack is the 1963 Shelby Monaco King Cobra, the 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle Super Sport (Barrett-Jackson Edition), the 1975 Ford Bronco (Barrett-Jackson Edition), the 1932 Ford Custom Double Down racer, the 1932 Ford “Hula Girl” Roadster, the 1959 Plymouth Atomic Punk Bubbletop, and the legendary 1970 Plymouth HEMI Cuda Convertible.
The 1959 Plymouth Atomic Punk Bubbletop harkens back to the creations of master hot-rodder Ed Roth. The 2008 build by Aaron Grote has been winning top awards since its debut. The car features a straight-piped 392 HEMI V8 with eight individual carburetors. Besides its crazy powerplant, the car features a bubbletop cockpit and some outrageous styling that would make George Barris jealous. The car was also a multiple car show winner including Best of Show at the 2008 Detroit Autorama.
With just 14 models ever built and only five with a four-speed manual, the 1970 Plymouth HEMI Cuda Convertible is without question a rare model and properly optioned with the stuff of muscle car legend. In the world of Barrett-Jackson, Hemi Cuda convertibles have hammered for record-setting sale prices. So its easily understandable why the car was chosen for this pack.
