2020 Jeep® Wrangler Gets Some Interesting Changes For New Model Year:

Revised Powertrain Lineup, New Buzz Model, New Options...

With the 2020 model year for the Jeep® brand already begun with the debut of the all-new 2020 Jeep Gladiator, we are now learning some new information about Jeep legendary icon the Wrangler for the new model year. Since dealer ordering opening this month, we are getting a look at some new options for the 2020 Jeep Wrangler lineup thanks to information released to Jeep dealers.
 
Jeep® Wrangler Rubicon. (Jeep).
Wrangler customers will be happy to hear that the optional LED exterior lighting package will be available for the Sport S trim-level. The package will add LED headlamps and fog lights to the popular budget-friendly package as an option.  Automatic high-beam headlight control has been added to the Advanced Safety Group when equipped with the popular 8.4-inch Uconnect infotainment touchscreen with Navigation. 
 
2020 Jeep® Wrangler Unlimited Black & Tan Edition. (Jeep).
Jeep is also kicking off the new model year with an all-new buzz model. The 2020 Jeep Wrangler Black & Tan Edition package is the latest addition to the Wrangler lineup. Based on the Sport S model, the Black & Tan Edition includes the following equipment…
 
  • Tan Premium Sunrider Soft Top (Dual Top Is Available)
  • 17-inch Machined Granite Crystal Wheels with All-Terrain Tires
  • Black Jeep Badges on Fenders
  • Side Steps
  • Heritage Tan Cloth Seats
  • Wizard Black Paint Mid-Bolster
  • Technology Group
    • 7-inch Uconnect Touchscreen Infotainment System
    • 7-inch Thin Film Transistor (TFT) In Gauge Cluster
    • Dual-Zone Climate Controls
    • SiriusXM Satellite Radio

The Wrangler Black & Tan Edition is available in both Wrangler (two-door) and Wrangler Unlimited (four-door) configurations. The package will have a cost of $1,695 U.S. MSRP over the Sport S model.

The Black & Tan Edition will join the Altitude Sport S and Altitude Sahara as limited editions for 2020.  Altitude models will include the following…

  • Gloss Black Accents
  • Black Spatter Hard Top (on Sport S)
  • Body Color Hard Top (on Sahara)
  • 18-inch Gloss Black Wheels
  • Black Interior Accents
  • Standard Black Cloth Seats (on Sport S)
  • Black Leather Seats with Black Accent Stitching (on Sahara)
  • Hard Top Headliner
Jeep® Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. (Jeep).

Twelve colors will be available including for the 2020 model year. Those colors include…

As for interior colors, there is one change for the 2020 model year. Heritage Tan will replace Dark Saddle for the new model year.

The 2020 Jeep Wrangler also features some powertrain changes as well. All Sahara automatic transmission Wranglers will include eTorque mild-hybrid technology. This means that the Sahara models will receive the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 with eTorque for all automatic V6 Sahara models. It will be the only trim-level getting the Pentastar V6 with the eTorque combination. 
 
Jeep® Wrangler Rubicon. (Jeep).
The 2.0-liter eTorque option from the Sport and Rubicon models is also being replaced for 2020. It is replaced with a non-eTorque version of the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with Electronic Stop-Start (ESS) as an option. Instead, those models will feature a $1,500 US lower price. The 2.0-liter eTorque is only available on Sahara models for 2020.
 
Jeep® Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. (Jeep).
The 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 will also be an option for the 2020 model year. However, it is listed as a late-availability option. But there is some exciting new news about the EcoDiesel. Originally announced by Jeep that it would be available on only Sahara and Rubicon Unlimited models, Jeep has opened availability across the Unlimited range to include Sport, Sahara, and Rubicon models.

Now, the 2020 Jeep Wrangler does get a base price increase of $250 across the board. But, when you equipped the Wrangler with the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with ESS, the price is $1,250 lower than a similarly equipped 2019 Wrangler Sport or Rubicon model ($750 lower on Sahara).
