For the past several months, we have been breaking down each trim level of the 2019 Dodge Challenger lineup. We have decided to compile everything into one post, with some new information about the 2019 models given to the dealers.
Believe it or not, the most popular trim level for the Dodge Challenger is base SXT RWD. According to Dodge, the take rate for that trim model is 23%. The SXT RWD trim adds a Dubplate IP/Console Bezel Finish, Technology Group and Plus Group for 2019 model year.
Dodge believes the all-new 2019 Challenger SXT AWD will account for 5% of total Challenger sales for the 2019 model year. The new all-wheel drive package is the cheapest way to get into a Challenger AWD model. The car can be equipped with the Blacktop Package, Technology Group, Plus Group, Cold Weather Group and Driver Convenience Group.
The all-new Challenger GT RWD adds the equipment from the Challenger R/T to a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 package. Available on GT RWD models is the Performance Handling Group, which brings enhanced braking and handling capabilities. On GT RWD, the Performance Handling Group features four-piston Brembo brakes (front and rear), wider 20 x 9-inch Black Noise wheels and a larger rear sway bar for improved driving experience and reduced understeer.
The Dodge Challenger GT AWD accounts for 9% of the volume for the Challenger lineup according to Dodge. It returns for the 2019 model year, but as the performance version of the all-wheel drive lineup. For 2019, the package adds the optional packages of the Plus Group, Sound Group II and Cold Weather Group.
The 2019 Challenger R/T get a ton of new goodies for the new model year. R/T models get the hood from last year’s R/T Scat Pack models, Houndstooth Cloth Performance Seats, and standard ParkSense Rear Park Assist. For the 2019 model year, you can even get the rear seat delete option.
Challenger T/A models return for the 2019 model year, however they are now option packages on R/T and R/T Scat Pack models. These T/A cars are unchanged for the 2019 model year besides from not being their own trim level anymore.
The 485 horsepower R/T Scat Pack trim level gets the most updates for the 2019 model year. With the addition of two new packages with the R/T Scat Pack Widebody and R/T Scat Pack 1320. All R/T Scat Pack models get Line Lock, last year’s SRT HELLCAT hood, optional Harman Kardon Audio package and Adaptive Damping Suspension.
The 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT HELLCAT gets a minor update for the new model year.
