WATCH: The 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona in Production

This Isn’t the First Dodge Charger the Windsor Plant Has Produced...

Production of the eighth-generation Dodge Charger (LB) is well underway at the Stellantis Windsor Assembly Plant in Ontario. While the 4.4-million-square-foot plant is widely known for its production of the Chrysler minivan lineup, many people don’t realize the plant actually produced the fourth-generation Dodge Charger in 1975, alongside the widely popular Chrysler Cordoba.

The Charger nameplate was replaced with the Magnum in late 1978—a more aerodynamic version of the 1975 to 1978 Charger—designed in hopes of being eligible for NASCAR racing. The plant ended production of the B-Body cars after 1979 and then produced the J-Body Chrysler Cordoba and Dodge Mirada until 1983, when it was revamped to produce the company’s successful minivan lineup.

Fast forward to 2023, Stellantis announced it would be retooling Windsor Assembly to support production of vehicles based on its STLA Large multi-energy vehicle architecture. Production of the new 2024 Dodge Charger two-door models began this past summer. Windsor is now ramping up for the production start of the new four-door Dodge Charger Daytona in Q1 2025. This car will use the same architecture and much of the body design of the two-door model but will move the B-pillar back to create a true sedan option.

Scheduled for a late-spring introduction, the Dodge Charger SIXPACK will debut in both two-door and four-door configurations. The SIXPACK lineup will feature two internal combustion engine (ICE) options from the company’s twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter HURRICANE I6 engine family:

  • 550-horsepower Dodge Charger SIXPACK H/O Coupe
  • 420-horsepower Dodge Charger SIXPACK S/O Sedan

Additionally, the plant will produce Dodge’s next-generation Charger Pursuit models, expected to include:

  • 456-horsepower Daytona R/T Pursuit
  • 420-horsepower Charger SIXPACK S/O Pursuit

In a recently released video above, you can watch the new Charger LB making its way down the assembly line at Windsor, marking the start of a new chapter for the iconic Charger nameplate.

One of the first bins I worked on to make better. Spotted one. Pull system pretty good to run both Cars at the same time. Should be able to do a running Change the STLA Large Minivan.

I've been watching alot of the videos out with the Daytona Charger as people have gotten to drive them around and give their reviews on how the car's feel and behave and I have to say well done to the team over at Dodge for putting together a car, that is now starting to be received a bit better now that people have gotten to experience them. From the videos I must say I actually like the sound it makes, granted it's not a V8 but it sounds nice. I know alot of people aren't feeling it because it goes against tradition but honestly, it seems to be a nice car. I'm actually excited for this car and the potential the car brings.
