Alfa Romeo To Still Show Off New Giulia GTA This Week, Track-Oriented Model To Join:

Track-Oriented GTAm, Rumored To Be Coming To The Mix As Well...

Despite the cancelation of the Geneva International Motor Show this week, the Alfa Romeo brand will still release details about its new high-performance Giulia sedan – the GTA. We originally broke the news that a newer higher-performance Alfa Romeo sedan was in the works, but it seems that CarScoops.com, is saying the Alfa Romeo brand will introduce not one, but two variants of the GTA.

A special track-version of the Giulia called the GTAm will also make an introduction, later this week. According to CarScoops.com, the new GTAm track-special model will be even lighter than the new GTA, by getting rid of many of the Alfa Romeo’s creature comforts like soundproofing and the rear seats – with a roll cage taking its place. Sounds like the Italian brand is following a page out of the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon playbook.

Both the Giulia GTA and the track-oriented GTAm will host many new aerodynamic updates, which include wider fenders – with rear boasting extensions, additional vents throughout the body for additional cooling, carbon fiber accents like those shown on the Alfa Romeo Racing limited-edition, twin central mounted exhaust, and a massive carbon-fiber wing on the GTAm model.

No one has confirmed the output of the Ferrari-derived 2.9-liter turbocharged V6, but MoparInsiders.com sources stated that the car could have up to 620 horsepower (a 115 horsepower boost over the Giulia Quadrifoglio). Currently, the 505 horsepower Giulia Quadrifoglio is rated at 0-100km/h (62mph) in 3.9-seconds and tops out at 307 km/h (191 mph).

We can’t wait to see the actual make its official debut this week. If the car turns out to be anything like the renderings from LP Designs has posted on Facebook, we can be in for a real treat.
