Three-Row 2022 Jeep® Grand Cherokee Makes Its Official Debut Tomorrow:
Stay Tuned For Full Coverage On The Upcoming Fifth-Generation Grand Cherokee...
Yesterday, we should you pictures of the upcoming all-new 2022 Jeep® Grand Cherokee (WL75). If you have been following MoparInsiders.com and our sister site WLJeepForum.com you will know that there will be two configurations of the fifth-generation Grand Cherokee, a two-row variant codenamed WL74 and a three-row variant codenamed WL75.
While yesterday’s spy photos showed the upcoming three-row model, we were told by our sources that the WL75 would start production first at the company’s new Mack Avenue Complex located on Detroit’s eastside in early March. They also told us to expect to see the final product within the next couple of days. However, yesterday, the Jeep brand pulled a fast one and announced the unveiling for this Thursday, January 7th, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. EST.
The e-mail states that Jeep will pull the cover off of its three-row variant of the next-generation Grand Cherokee, but says nothing else about the rest of the fifth-generation WL variants. So we expect those unveilings to come at a later time closer to the WL74’s scheduled production start in August.
The 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee WL75 will expand the iconic American brand’s most award-winning SUV lineup, however, it does go up against the recently updated 2021 Dodge Durango in the three-row SUV E-segment. With its recent update, it is expected that the next-generation Dodge Durango due sometime around 2024 will jump to the body-on-frame (BoF) architecture of the upcoming Wagoneer/Grand Wagoneer (WS) and allowing the Grand Cherokee WL75 to ultimately be the main vehicle for those looking for a larger three-row E-Segment SUV.
We will be covering everything on the upcoming 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee WL75 when it breaks. For those who are looking forward to the fifth-generation WL, be sure to join in the in-depth conversation on WLJeepForum.com. So stay tuned.
