Police Have Recovered 5 of 8 Stolen Ram 1500s From Plant.

Still Searching For Three More In Assembly Plant Heist...

Last week, we reported about a huge heist at the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) Warren Truck Assembly Plant in Warren, Michigan; which involved thieves stealing at the time was up to 9 brand-new 2018 Ram 1500s. Since then, inventories were counted and it was confirmed to be 8 Ram 1500 were in fact stolen from the holding lot.

It started around 4:00am last Thursday morning, when police say a group of thieves arrived at the holding lot at the Warren Truck Assembly Plant in what is believed to be another stolen vehicle. Soon after arriving the thieves used bolt cutters to cut through the fence to gain access to the holding lot. Inside the lot, the thieves waited for each of others to get into brand new Ram 1500 models and drive towards the gate together as a convoy. It was then, that the lead truck crashed into the gate at the security checkpoint and the convoy escaped southbound on Mound Road towards the city of Detroit.

The heist has received a lot of media attention over the past week. This has allowed Metro Detroit police departments to find 5 of the 8 stolen Ram 1500s, across the Metro Detroit area. The map below are the locations where law enforcement have found the vehicles.

According to the reports, the following vehicles were located at the addresses on the map.

• (1) Ram 1500 Crew Cab in Flame Red was found on May 3rd, on the 1600 block of Outer Drive. The vehicle was reported to have no damage.

• (1) Ram 1500 Crew Cab in Bright White was found on May 4th, on the 17300 block of Monica Street. The vehicle was reported to have no damage.

• (1) Ram 1500 Crew Cab in Brilliant Black was found on May 5th, on the 2100 block of Connor Street. The vehicle was reported nothing stolen, but had front end damage.

•(1) Ram 1500 Crew Cab in Blue Streak was found on May 6th, on the 2500 block of West Philadelphia Street. The vehicle was reported nothing stolen, but had front, side and rear damage.

• (1) Ram 1500 Crew Cab in Brilliant Black was found on May 7th, on the 20400 block of Revere Street. The vehicle was completely stripped.

No arrest have been in connection with the heist. Police are still offering a $1,000 cash reward, continue urging the public to call the tip hotline at 586-574-4877.

A FCA spokeswoman said Tuesday, “The internal investigation is ongoing, but we have no further comment because it’s an active investigation.”
