VIDEO: Watch The New Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA & GTAm Tackle The Goodwood Hill Climb:

Duo Of High Performance Giulia Sedans, Made Official U.K. Debut Earlier This Month...

The new 2021 Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA and GTAm made their official public debut outside of Italy, earlier this month at the 2021 Goodwood Festival of Speed. Goodwood is one of the biggest celebrations of motorsport and car culture in the world, so what better of a place to showcase the ultimate performance Giulia in front of fans of the Alfa Romeo brand.

Before firing up its aluminum 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V6 to take on the infamous 1.16-mile hill climb on the Goodwood estate, fans were able to see, hear, smell and get up close to the car that resurrected the iconic GTA name, in a way that can only be done at Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Peter Greaves, known for his YouTube channel “Petrol Ped” had a unique chance by Alfa Romeo to take the new Giulia GTA up the hill at Goodwood.

Born in 1965, GTA is an acronym for Gran Turismo Alleggerita which means ‘Lightened Gran Turismo. Taking inspiration from its namesake and limited to just 500 units, the new Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA and GTAm get a 30 horsepower boost to 540 horsepower, an Akrapovič titanium exhaust to give the GTA its own distinctive sound, and a weight reduction of 221 pounds (100 kilograms) compared to the standard Giulia Quadrifoglio allowing the GTA to hit 62 mph (or 100 kph) in just 3.6-seconds. That’s about the same time as the much heavier and more powerful 2020 Dodge Charger SRT HELLCAT Widebody

Following the same guidelines that were followed for the 1965 Giulia GTA, Alfa Romeo engineers strove to improve aerodynamics and handling but above all to reduce weight. These solutions contain a lot of technical know-how thanks to the work of Alfa Romeo and Sauber Engineering, who both operate the Formula 1 Alfa Romeo Racing team together. A new Sauber Areokit was designed for the Giulia GTA with active aerodynamics for added downforce. The Areokit includes an aggressive new front fascia, side skirts, active front splitter, new rear spoiler, as well as a new carbon-fiber rear diffuser with twin-titanium mounted center exhaust and tells you that this isn’t your typical Giulia sedan.

If that isn’t enough for you, the GTAm (modified) variant is an extreme 100% “street legal” version of the GTA, characterized by two racing seats, roll bar, and Sabelt 6-point safety belts. With a front splitter and a larger visible rear wing in carbon, the GTAm expresses even more sportiness.

In the GTA version, with the same power, Giulia offers four seats, no rear roll-bar; spoiler and splitter optimized for daily use on the road; the same door panels, seats, and windows as those of the Giulia Quadrifoglio. The result is a veritable supercar for everyday use.

The Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA and GTAm are available in select European markets. The GTA is priced at €175,281 and €180,281 for the GTAm. These might just prove to be the last great gas-powered performance sedans from the Italian brand, as it was announced recently, that Alfa Romeo will go full-electric by 2030.
