RECALL: 48,494 Dodge Hornet and Tonale Units for Camera Issue
Backup Camera May Fail to Display Image

Stellantis (FCA US, LLC) is recalling approximately 48,494 units of its 2023 to 2025 Alfa Romeo Tonale (GC) and Dodge Hornet (GG) vehicles, which may have been built with a defect that can result in the rearview image not displaying during a backing event. A rearview image that is not displayed reduces the driver’s visibility of what is behind the vehicle. Instead of the rearview image, a blank screen will appear. A vehicle crash could occur if the driver does not heed the blank screen warning and fails to ensure it is safe to reverse the vehicle.
As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 111, “Rear Visibility.”

According to the recall, 8,122 units of the 2023 to 2025 Alfa Romeo Tonale are affected. These vehicles were built between February 9, 2023—the production date of the first 2023 model year unit—and April 7, 2025, when the last suspect vehicle was produced. Additionally, 40,372 units of the 2023 to 2025 Dodge Hornet are included in the recall. These were manufactured from August 31, 2022—the production date of the first suspect 2023 model year vehicle—through April 1, 2025. Vehicle production and supplier records were used to identify the affected population.
