Stellantis (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2021 to 2022 Pacifica and 2021 Voyager vehicles with Easy Slide Second Row Bucket Seats (sales code CY3). The issue is that the second-row seat-to-floor mounting latch may bind and stick open, preventing the seat from properly securing to the floor. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 225, “Child Restraint Anchorage Systems.”
Stellantis says that 1,160 units are affected (1,094 Pacifica, 66 Voyager) by the recall. The suspect vehicles were manufactured between Monday, October 4th, 2021 and Thursday, October 28th, 2021.
FCA US will conduct a voluntary safety recall to inspect the second-row seat latch and, if necessary, replace the second-row seat riser. Dealers will be notified of the launch of this safety recall by way of established communication methods. This recall is estimated to launch in the Q2 of 2022.
Recall Chronology:
- On February 23rd, 2022, FCA US LLC (“FCA US”) Technical Safety and Regulatory Compliance recognized a
vehicle build issue existed on certain vehicles related to second-row seat retention, potentially not in
compliance with FMVSS 225. - On March 17th, 2022, FCA US determined, through the Vehicle Regulations Committee, to conduct a voluntary
safety recall of the affected vehicles.
Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the second-row seat cushion frame, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on Friday, May 13, 2022. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US LLC’s number for this recall is Z22.
