Ram Releases Second Wave Of The “Built To Serve” Edition Pickups:
These Trucks Are Available In Ceramic Gray and Patriot Blue...
Back in November of last year, Ram Trucks unveiled the new 2020 Ram 1500 Big Horn “Built to Serve” Edition at the “Stars and Strings” concert at the beautiful Fox Theater in downtown Detroit, Michigan. They announced that 9,000 Built To Serve Editions would be made in total, over five separate releases. The first wave of Built To Serve trucks started hitting dealer lots in early February, and now Ram is releasing their second phase of the Built To Serve Editions.
“Ram truck owners, whether civilian or military, are familiar with the “Built to Serve” adage as it’s something we strive to build into every truck and van we produce,” said Mike Koval, Head of Ram Brand, FCA – North America. ‘Ram honors those who serve or have served in the United States with distinction and we continue to welcome volunteers to our Ram Nation volunteer efforts.”
The Built To Serve Editions were designed to celebrate America’s five land, sea, and air-based armed forces branches with unique versions of the popular Ram 1500. The second wave of the Built To Serve trucks offer a nautical theme with both Ceramic Gray and Patriot Blue exterior colors provided along with a black interior with Light Ambassador Blue accent stitching.
More than color sets the Built To Serve Editions apart from other Ram 1500s though as they also feature the U.S. Flag and Built to Serve decal on the rear box sides, black front and rear bumpers, a black grille and surround, Tradesman grille inserts, black badging, body-colored fender flares, black bezel LED headlamps and tail lights from the Rebel and Night Edition trucks, black wheel to wheel side steps, and a set of black 4-inch exhaust tips. The wheels are also the 20-inch aluminum wheel design from the Big Horn Black package but are finished in a unique Technical Gray finish, exclusive to the Built to Serve trucks.
The interiors of the trucks also feature some design and functionality improvements such as:
- Built to Serve Glovebox Badge
- Lockable Console Storage
- Deeply Bolstered Cloth and Vinyl Sport Seats
- Black Onyx Chrome Interior Trim
- All-Weather Rubber Slush Mats
The front seats also feature Built To Serve embroidered velcro panels which allow buyers to apply their own patches – regimental, flags, name tapes, or slogans – to personalize their “Built to Serve Edition.” Front seat-back panels are covered with Pouch Attachment Ladder System/Modular Lightweight Load-bearing Equipment (PALS/MOLLE) webbing to attach additional equipment or pouches.
All Built to Serve Editions will come standard with Ram’s 4×4 Off-Road Group. This package adds even more capability to the Ram 1500 with the additional features:
- Falken Wildpeak All-Terrain Tires
- Electronic-Locking Rear Diff
- Hill-Descent Control
- Underbody Skid Plates
- Tow Hooks
- Heavy-Duty Off-Road-Calibrated Front and Rear Shocks
The “Built To Serve Edition” is available in both the Quad Cab and Crew Cab configurations and is available will all powertrains. For more information on ordering a Built To Serve edition, you can contact your local Ram Truck dealer.
