The Jeep® brand celebrates 80 years of adventure, passion, and freedom in 2021. What has become the most successful nameplate globally for the brand is the Jeep Compass. The nameplate made its global debut back in 2007 and served as an entry-level vehicle for the brand, but never caught the attention the brand was hoping for. In 2016, Jeep introduced an all-new second-generation 2017 Jeep Compass, which was designed with a global mindset and worldwide success has followed ever since.
The second-generation Jeep Compass hit the marketplace first in Brazil. It was in Brazil, where Jeep launched the Jeep Automotive Pole, in Goiana (PE), with its 2014 launch of the compact Renegade. The Compass then went on the becoming the market leader in the segment of medium-sized SUVs, with five assembly plants manufacturing currently producing the Compass globally.
After a successful launch of the updated Compass in Brazil earlier this year, the Jeep brand is ready to unveil its updated version of its successful C-SUV to the Argentine people. Currently, the Compass is offered in six different configurations for the Argentine market. Those models include…
- Sport 4×2
- Longitude 4×2
- Longitude Plus 4×4
- Limited Plus 4×4
- Limited Plus 4×4 Turbodiesel
- Trailhawk 4×4 Turbodiesel
It is expected that the turbocharged 2.0-liter Multijet II inline-four-cylinder diesel making 170 horsepower and 258 ft.-lb. (350Nm) of torque will remain for 2022. Those who opt for a gasoline-powered model will now get a turbocharged 1.3-liter FireFly inline-four-cylinder engine making 180 horsepower and 200 ft.-lb. (270Nm) of torque, instead of the sluggish naturally-aspirated 2.4-liter Tigershark inline-four-cylinder, as we get in North America. We are jealous.
All 2022 Jeep Compass models will feature new wheel designs, full LED headlamps, at least six airbags, more technology thanks to the new 10.1-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Jeep will be presenting the updated Compass on Wednesday, September 29th @ 6:30 p.m. AST or 7:30 p.m. EST. It should prove to be a busy day for the Jeep brand already, as it will be having its global debut for the all-new 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee (WL74) as well.
