Ram Heavy Duty Luxury Models Get New Choice Of Running Boards:

Laramie Longhorn Level 1 & Limited Models, Can Now Dump The Power Running Boards...

A lot of luxury pickup truck buyers, use their trucks as work trucks. It’s common to see luxury models of the Ram 2500 and 3500 on work sites. We have heard from a lot of owners asking if there is an option to ditch the power running board option that comes standard on the luxury Laramie Longhorn Level 1 and Limited Heavy Duty trucks. Some have complained that the power running boards can be damaged at rough work sites.

Well, it sounds like Ram is listening and for the first-time is offering owners who purchase their luxury models, a choice of running boards. Starting this month, Ram has announced that the 2019 Ram 2500/3500 Heavy Duty Laramie Longhorn Level 1 and Limited trucks can now be optioned with Wheel-to-Wheel Side Steps (Cab-Length Side Steps for Dually models) at no extra charge.

Unfortunately, this option is only available for trucks ordered from August on (unless optioned that way by the dealer ordering the truck). So if you are looking for a luxury work truck, keep in mind that you now have the option to order the truck without the power running boards.
