Peugeot Refreshes Landtrek Midsized Pickup for MEA Market
New Styling, Features, and a Powerful Diesel Engine Boost Peugeot's Midsized Contender...
Peugeot has unveiled a significant update to its Landtrek midsized pickup, catering to the African, Middle East, and South American markets. This mid-cycle refresh enhances the truck with updated styling, cutting-edge technology, improved safety features, and a new 2.2-liter Multijet diesel engine. These updates come after the recent launches of the Fiat Titano and Ram 1200, which aim to solidify the Landtrek’s position in the competitive midsize pickup segment.
Enhanced Exterior Design –
The updated Landtrek features a striking new grille adorned with Peugeot’s latest lion logo, flanked by LED daytime running lights shaped like the brand’s iconic claws. The redesigned lower front section includes a Gloss Black fog lamp bezel, while a revamped rear bumper and tailgate design modernize the truck’s appearance. A new wheel design featuring the updated logo completes the refreshed look.
The Double Cab measures 5.33 meters (209.8 inches) in length, while the Single Cab is slightly longer at 5.39 meters (212.2 inches). Both variants share a width of 1.92 meters (75.6 inches), offering a robust road presence.
Upgraded Interior with Modern Technology –
The Landtrek’s cabin now boasts a new dash design featuring a 10-inch HD touchscreen with a revamped interface. The infotainment system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto™, while a 7-inch digital instrument cluster provides real-time driver information. Adaptive cruise control (ACC) debuts in this model for added convenience, elevating its competitiveness in the midsize truck category.
Seating options include a Multiflex 3-seater bench or two single seats with a central armrest. The Double Cab model offers modular rear seats that fold in a 60/40 split or completely flat, increasing cargo versatility. With ample legroom and shoulder width, the cabin comfortably seats up to six passengers. Storage space totals 27 liters, accommodating smaller items with ease.
Powertrain and Capability –
Under the hood, the Landtrek offers:
- 2.2-liter Multijet I-4 turbodiesel: 200 hp and 450 Nm (331 lb-ft) of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic or 6-speed manual.
- 1.9-liter turbodiesel: 150 hp and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque, available with a 6-speed manual.
- 2.4-liter gas I-4: 210 hp and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque, with both manual and automatic transmissions.
The Landtrek supports 4×2 and 4×4 drivetrains, with 4×4 models offering off-road features like a 360° camera system and 600 mm (23.6 inches) water-fording capability. With the 2.2-liter diesel engine, it achieves a maximum towing capacity of 3,500 kg (7,716 lbs) and payloads up to 1,400 kg (3,086 lbs).
Expanded Customization Options –
Peugeot now offers 60 accessories, including bed liners, hard tonneau covers, and chrome roll bars, allowing owners to personalize their trucks for work or leisure.
