
If there’s one thing that never gets old, it’s stuffing modern Mopar muscle into a classic Dodge body—and this HELLCAT-powered 1970 Dodge Charger is a shining example of how it’s done right. Currently listed on BringATrailer.com with bidding ending Friday, May 9 at 1:31 p.m. EDT, this show-stopping Charger started life as a bare shell before getting the full SEMA treatment.

Acquired by the current seller in 2023, the car was transformed from the ground up and shown off later that year at SEMA as a promotional build for Lexani Performance Tires. The body was widened by 5 inches with flared quarter panels, painted bumpers and trim, and topped off with a carbon-fiber roof overlay that mimics the old-school vinyl top look. The gloss black finish is accented by a bold red grille, rear stripes, and HELLCAT badging to remind everyone what lurks under the hood.

Power comes from a supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI® HELLCAT V8 taken from a 2016 Dodge Challenger SRT HELLCAT. It’s paired with an 8-speed TorqueFlite automatic and backed by a custom 8.75-inch rear end and limited-slip differential. Cleveland Power & Performance in Ohio sourced and installed the entire drivetrain.

Underneath, the car rides on a modernized chassis with Ridetech air suspension, a triangulated four-link rear setup, QA1 front sway bar, and Hotchkis subframe connectors. Massive Wilwood 14-inch drilled-and-slotted rotors help bring it all to a stop. It rolls on 20-inch Strasse forged wheels with carbon-fiber centers, wrapped in sticky Lionhart tires.

Inside, the cabin takes a leap into the present with saddle brown leather and black suede upholstery stitched in a diamond pattern. The interior also features power windows, push-button start, and a Uconnect 4C infotainment system with Bluetooth and navigation. The dash and digital gauge cluster were pulled from a modern HELLCAT and include paddle shifters on a leather-wrapped wheel. One thing missing? Air conditioning—but that’s a small tradeoff for a car this wild.

The trunk houses three 10-inch Kenwood eXcelon subwoofers, with the air suspension hardware neatly hidden under a custom AirPod cover. Mileage on the digital cluster shows 66,000, though the true mileage is unknown. Roughly 800 miles have been driven since the build was completed.
