Ordering For The 2021 Jeep® Wrangler Unlimited 4xe Is Now Open!

Not All Models Are Available At Launch...

The Jeep® brand introduced its new electrified Wrangler Unlimited 4xe lineup back in September. The new plug-in electric off-roader is being boasted as the most capable, technically advanced, and eco-friendly Wrangler yet. While Jeep announced technical details about the new powertrain variant, there wasn’t a lot of details about the production Wrangler Unlimited 4xe lineup. Now thanks to our dealer friends, we are learning more details about the upcoming hybrid Wrangler.

According to dealer documents, there are three core Wrangler Unlimited 4xe trim levels. The entry-level model will be just called 4xe. While we have seen that the standard 4xe models will carry the “Sport” badge on prototype testing in the wild, we aren’t sure if the production models will dump the Sport badge entirely for just the 4xe moniker.

The entry-level 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 4xe will feature the following standard features…

  • 2.0-liter Turbocharged Inline-Four-Cylinder Engine
  • ZF-Sourced 8P75PH 8-Speed Automatic with Transmission-Mounted Motor-Generator Unit
  • 400-Volt, 17-kWh, 96-Cell Lithium-Ion, Nickel Manganese Cobalt Battery Pack
  • Charge Port
  • Fuel Filler Door
  • eSelect Mode Selector
  • Power Windows, Locks, and Mirrors
  • Air Conditioning
  • Remote Keyless Entry
  • 20-Inch Aluminum Wheels
  • Body-Colored Fender Flares
  • Premium Audio Group
  • Full-Time Selec-Trac Transfer Case

The entry-level 4xe model will also have a number of available options as well. Options such as exterior LED Lighting Group, Cold Weather Group, Convenience Group, Trailer-Tow Package, 8.4-Inch Uconnect touchscreen, Dual-Top option, Safety Group, Advanced Safety Group, Anti-Spin Differential Rear Axle, and Body-Colored Hard Top are all available.

2021 Jeep® Wrangler Unlimited Sahara 4xe Prototype. (MoparInsiders).

The 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara 4xe is placed in the middle of the lineup and comes standard with all of the standard features of the 4xe model, with the addition of the following equipment…

The Sahara Unlimited 4xe also offers customers to order their 4xe with Remote Start, Remote Proximity, Sky-One Touch Power Top, and Front Facing Camera as optional equipment.

For those looking for even more of a premium offering, the luxurious Sahara-based High Altitude package is also available on Sahara 4xe models. The Sahara High Altitude 4xe adds the following equipment to the already well-equipped Sahara 4xe…

2021 Jeep® Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 4xe Prototype. (MoparInsiders).

The last of the three core models is the Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 4xe. The off-road-oriented Rubicon 4xe adds the following equipment…

  • 8.4-Inch Radio and Premium Audio
    • 4G LTE Wi-Fi Hot Spot
    • 8.4-Inch Touchscreen Display
    • Alpine® Premium Audio System
    • Emergency / Assistance Call
    • GPS Navigation
    • HD™ Radio
    • Automatic-Dimming Rear-View Mirror
  • LED Lighting Group
  • Electric Blue Tow Hooks
  • Full-Time Rock-Trac Transfer Case

Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 4xe models use the full-time Rock-Trac four-wheel-drive system that includes a two-speed transfer case with a 4:1 low-range gear ratio. The Rubicon model also uses front and rear next-generation Dana 44 axles, and Tru-Lok electronic front and rear-axle lockers. The electrified Wrangler Rubicon 4xe also features an impressive crawl ratio of 77.2:1, which makes scaling any obstacle easy.  A front axle, electronic sway-bar disconnect allows for improved articulation and total suspension travel.

According to dealers, the Wrangler Unlimited 4xe has opened up ordering despite not releasing pricing. There is a catch though. The entry-level Wrangler Unlimited 4xe will not be available at launch, however, the Sahara, Sahara High Altitude, and Rubicon 4xe offerings are.

For more information or availability, you can contact your local Jeep dealer for details. Wrangler Unlimited 4xe models are expected to arrive in dealer showrooms during the first quarter of 2021.
