With it being the official 80th anniversary of the Jeep® brand this week, there has been a lot of Jeep-related information released. There was of course the introduction of the updated compact 2022 Jeep Compass, Mopar’s introduction of Gorilla Glass options for Wrangler and Gladiator models, the official appearance of Wrangler Rubicon Xtreme Recon Package, and of course the announcement of offer the new Sunrider Flip Top as a factory option for both the Wrangler and Gladiator. As if that news was enough for Jeep fans to absorb, there is one more highly-anticipated option that is joining the Gladiator lineup that Jeep forgot to announce.
The off-road adventure brand has now opened ordering for the popular Gecko Green (PFM) exterior color for its midsize Gladiator pickup. The bright green color is available across the Gladiator lineup and available on soft-top, Black hard-top (HT1), and body-color hard-top (HT3) configurations. The high-impact exterior color will set you back $245 for those who live in the U.S.
For the 2021 model year, the Jeep brand announced to its dealer body that it would re-introduce three popular high-impact colors from the brand’s past for a limited time. The first color to return was “Chief”, the popular blue color was originally made its debut on the 2015 Jeep Chief Concept and ran from 2017 to 2018. Chief rejoined the lineup from November to February.
The second color to return was the popular “Nacho” color. It made its debut on the 2018 Jeep Wrangler Nacho Concept and was put into production in 2018 for a limited run. Nacho returned this year on both Wrangler and Gladiator models from December to earlier this April.
While the third color Gecko Green made its original debut back in 2012 on the Wrangler (JK) and stayed in production until the end of 2013. The popular green color was a hit with Wrangler fans, that there is even a Facebook group dedicated to owners of the color.
You might remember, we covered a unique Gecko Green-colored Wrangler Unlimited Sahara High Altitude that was delivered to our friends at LaFontaine Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep®, Ram in Walled Lake, Michigan. Because it was a one of one offering at the time, after we posted that article, that someone from Connecticut flew to Michigan to purchase it. So to say there is a lot of excitement about the new color is an understandment.
With that being said, if you are a fan of the color and want to purchase it on a Gladiator, you only have a limited time. While ordering is currently open, production of the Gecko Green will come to an end in early October according to Jeep. That means you have less than 3 months to get your bright green Gladiator before its gone once again.
So those who are looking to purchase one of the bright green Jeeps may want to contact your local Jeep dealer as soon as possible to place an order or check for availability.
