Mopar Picks Van Buren Township for New Detroit Mega Hub
$388M Investment Will Modernize Parts Distribution and Support Nearly 500 UAW Jobs

Mopar is planting big roots in Van Buren Township, Michigan. Stellantis has officially announced plans to build its brand-new Metro Detroit Mega Hub right in the heart of Metro Detroit, with a hefty $388 million investment behind it. The facility, scheduled to open in 2027, will play a major role in modernizing Mopar’s parts distribution across the United States.
This state-of-the-art warehouse will be loaded with high-tech features, including the AutoStore system—a fully automated storage and retrieval setup that uses small robots to deliver parts with precision and speed. Think of it like a robotic army gliding along tracks to pull orders quickly, accurately, and efficiently. For dealers and customers, that means faster service and fewer delays.

“With the Metro Detroit Mega Hub, we’re building a faster, smarter, and more reliable parts distribution network,” said Darren Bradshaw, SVP and Head of Mopar North America. “We’re focused on improving speed, sustainability, and supporting our team with a modern, high-tech workplace.”
The project will support about 488 United Auto Workers (UAW) members, drawing from existing parts distribution centers (PDCs) in Center Line, Warren, Warren Sherwood, and even Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Workers from Marysville will be shifting over to Warren and Warren Sherwood before fully transitioning to the new facility.
Until the Mega Hub and nearby Warren Sherwood e-coat upfitting facility are fully operational, the company will keep things rolling by leasing back its sold PDCs in Center Line, Marysville, and Milwaukee. It’s all part of Stellantis’ long-term plan to streamline operations, cut down on delivery times, and boost sustainability through smarter logistics.

This isn’t the first move Stellantis has made in upgrading its Mopar parts infrastructure. Just last year, as part of its UAW contract agreements, the company poured nearly $120 million into enhancing PDCs and even launched a new center in East Fishkill, New York.
Van Buren Township wasn’t the only site in the running—Washington Township was also being considered. But in the end, Van Buren got the nod, and Michigan keeps its strong grip on Mopar’s distribution future.
