RECALL: 2023 Maserati MC20 Cielo For Windshield Frame Detaching

11 Units Are Affected By The Recall In The United States...

Maserati North America, Inc. (Maserati) is recalling certain 2023 MC20 Cielo vehicles. The windshield frame bonding may be insufficient, allowing the frame to detach in a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 208, “Occupant Crash Protection.”

The suspect period was determined, using vehicle production records, to be some 2023 MY Maserati MC20 Cielo vehicles built between October 10th, 2022, the start of vehicle production, and March 21st, 2023, when the vehicle assembly plant corrected the issue in vehicle production. According to the recall, 11 units are affected by the recall.

Recall Chronology –

  • On February 27th, 2023, Maserati S.p.A opened an investigation into potentially ineffective adhesion of the windshield frame to the vehicle based on a vehicle inspection at the vehicle assembly plant.
  • On March 22nd, 2023, Maserati S.p.A’s Regional Technical Team concluded its technical analysis and determined that suspect vehicles may not meet the testing requirements of FMVSS 208.
  • On March 29th, 2023, Maserati S.p.A determined, through its Vehicle Regulation Committee, to conduct a voluntary safety recall of the affected vehicles.

Dealers will reinstall the windshield frame and replace the windshield free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on May 22nd, 2023. Owners may contact Maserati customer service at 1-877-696-2737. Maserati’s number for this recall is 616.
