Maserati Unveils Limited Edition MC20 Icona and Leggenda

Celebrating 20 Years of Racing Heritage with Exclusive Super Sportscars...

Maserati is celebrating its rich racing heritage by introducing two new special series editions of the MC20 super sportscar: the MC20 Icona and MC20 Leggenda. These exclusive vehicles are designed to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Maserati’s return to competitive racing with the iconic MC12 in 2004, following a 37-year hiatus.

The MC12 debuted as a road version and quickly became a benchmark in GT championships, inspiring the Maserati MC20 super sports car. Launched in 2020, the MC20 marked a new era for Maserati. It is equipped with the innovative V6 Nettuno engine and is proudly made in Italy.

Limited Editions with Exclusive Features –

The MC20 Icona and MC20 Leggenda will be offered in a limited edition of just 20 units each. These special series feature unique liveries and exclusive content inspired by the MC12 Stradale and MC12 GT1 Vitaphone liveries, respectively.

MC20 Icona –

The MC20 Icona’s livery pays homage to the 2004 MC12 Stradale, showcasing the iconic colors reminiscent of the Maserati Trofeo Light that competed in the 24 Hours of Daytona. This livery is a tribute to the Maserati Birdcage Type 61, produced between 1959 and 1961.

The Fuoriserie Personalisation Program features are included in the MC20 Icona’s Bianco Audace Matte and Blu Stradale livery. Exclusive details include the Maserati Fuoriserie logo in Bianco Audace on the side, positioned near the rear wheels, and the Italian flag logo under the MC20 lettering on the door. The chrome-plated wheels with a specific Trident design have silver hubcaps with the Trident logo in contrasting blue. The brake calipers are painted blue, the mirrors have an auto-dimming feature, and the engine cover is carbon fiber.

MC20 Leggenda –

The MC20 Leggenda sports a livery in Nero Essenza and Digital Mint Matte, reflecting the award-winning MC12 GT1’s colors under the Vitaphone Racing team. This car was successful with three victories and two runner-up placements in the 24 Hours of Spa.

The Fuoriserie features of the MC20 Leggenda include Trident wheels in Nero Lucido with Nero Opaco and Trident Digital Mint hubcaps. The Trident logo in yellow is displayed on the grille, doors, and C-pillar, and the brake calipers are painted black.

High-Performance and Sophisticated Interiors –

Both special series have racing-inspired interiors featuring lightweight 4-way monocoque racing seats. The MC20 Icona has seats with a central section in Nero/Blu on a silver background, while the MC20 Leggenda’s seats are in Nero on a silver background. Both models feature Trident embroidery on the headrest along with the words “Icona” or “Leggenda.”

The cover over the powerful Nettuno engine has a badge with “ICONA. UNA DI 20” or “LEGGENDA. UNA DI 20.” The interiors also include the sophisticated Sonus faber sound system, a carbon fiber interior package, an electronic limited-slip differential (E-LSD), suspension lifter, blind-spot and rear cross-path detection systems, and mats in both the front and boot.

A Legacy of Racing Excellence –

The MC20 Icona and MC20 Leggenda celebrate Maserati’s successful racing history, particularly with the legendary MC12 GT1. Between 2004 and 2010, the MC12 GT1 secured 27 victories in the FIA GT Championships, three wins at the 24 Hours of Spa, and multiple team, driver, and constructor championships.

The MC12 Stradale, designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro and equipped with a Ferrari-derived 12-cylinder engine, remains the fastest production car Maserati has ever produced, with a top speed of 330 km/h (205 mph) and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) in 3.8 seconds. Only 50 units were made.

Today, the MC20 Icona and MC20 Leggenda reflect the spirit and excellence of Maserati’s racing legacy, representing a symbolic passing of the baton to a new generation of super sportscars.
