As the Jeep® brand continues to move forward with its electrification plans. Building upon the success of its Wrangler Unlimited, Compass, Renegade, and Grand Cherokee 4xe plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVs), the American adventure brand is developing a comprehensive electrified product portfolio to enhance its presence across the globe.
In Europe, the Jeep brand has already made a big shift by offering only electrified SUVs in countries such as Germany and France. By the end of this year, 100% of the Jeep SUV portfolio will be electrified in almost all of the European markets.
This morning, the Jeep brand will reveal its all-new 2023 Jeep Avenger (JJ), the brand’s first-ever production battery-electric vehicle (BEV). The small B-segment SUV will be introduced in Europe, and then quickly rolled out to markets like Japan and South Korea.
Our sources have indicated, the Avenger will NOT be coming to the North American market. But the rest of the world will be able to purchase the new subcompact SUV in both turbocharged gasoline and fully-electric powertrain options. Jeep will slot the Avenger below the current Renegade in the brand’s portfolio.
The Avenger will be revealed during a press conference hosted by Jeep CEO Christian Meunier, at 4:00 p.m. CET (10:00 a.m. EST) today. You will be able to watch the event LIVE on MoparInsiders.com, in the video above. Customers will be able to make reservations for a new Avenger Launch Edition BEV immediately after the press conference.
