Jeep® Officially Announces Gecko Green & Factory-Installed Gorilla Glass Options!

A couple of weeks ago, thanks to our dealer connection we broke the news about two important additions to the Jeep® Gladiator and Wrangler models beginning this month. The first was the addition of the new factory-installed JPP windshield with Corning Gorilla Glass option for both off-road-oriented Jeep vehicles. The second addition was the ordering availability for the popular high-impact Gecko Green color on the Gladiator model. 

Yesterday, the Jeep brand confirmed our information and also updated its Jeep.com Build & Price configurator to the changes.

“Customization is at the core of both Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Gladiator, and new colors and equipment allow the customer customization journey to begin at the factory,” said Jim Morrison, Vice President, Jeep Brand North America. “Bold colors like Gecko Green give our customers the chance to stand out on the trails, while the tough Gorilla Glass windshield will help them bring their Jeep home unscathed.”

Gecko Green marks the third limited-edition high-impact paint color to run during the 2021 model year, following the production of Chief Blue and Nacho. Jeep says the Gecko Green color has been available since Spring for ordering, however, we saw one model in that time which we showed to you here on MoparInsiders.com. Now, we are hearing from several of our dealer friends and readers that the Gecko Green-colored Wranglers are starting to arrive as this article going live. That color will be available until the end of August on Wrangler models, so if you want one you better order or purchase quickly.

As for the Gladiator, ordering opened this month for the bright green color. Those customers looking to order a Gecko Green Gladiator will also have to hurry as ordering for the high-impact color will only last until early October.

Gecko Green is available for an additional $245 USD or $295 CAD on both models.

As for the Corning Gorilla Glass option, it is priced at a U.S. Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $95 or $150 for Canadian buyers. The option is available on Sport S, Willys, Sahara (Wrangler), Overland (Gladiator), Rubicon, and Mojave (Gladiator). So if you are planning on purchasing a standard Sport or Willys Sport model, you are out of luck.

The windshield uses the same chemical-strengthening technology like cell phone screens. The combination of an ultra-thin Gorilla Glass inner ply with a 52% thicker outer ply makes this windshield lightweight, durable, and up to three times more resistant to chips, cracks, and fractures from stones and off-road debris that most Gladiator and Wrangler owners encounter.
