This is one 1971 Plymouth HEMI® ‘Cuda that will catch your attention. Due to cross the auction block at the 2023 Mecum Indy event, this particular ‘Cuda is one of only 48 HEMI hardtops built for the 1971 model year with the famed TorqueFlite automatic transmission.

With just 12,035 original miles on the odometer, this car is well-preserved and retains originality. In addition, it has been in the hands of the same owner since 1974.

Under the hood, you’ll find a number-matching 7.0-liter (426 cubic-inch) HEMI V8. The HEMI features dual 4-barrel carburetors, hemispherical cylinder heads, and a dual exhaust layout, and was well underrated, despite Chrysler saying it was good for 425 horsepower and 490 lb.-ft. of torque. The HEMI ‘Cuda wasn’t your ordinary “pony car” and was a force to be reckoned with on the street and the track.

This car wears a stunning GY9 Tawny Gold Metallic exterior with custom striping and period paint themes. Inside, you’ll find black bucket seats separated by a C16 center console, accompanied by a T-handle Slap-Stik shifter and a column-mounted tachometer. In addition, the cabin features woodgrain-themed trim and chrome accents, adding to its 1970s allure.

Completing its distinctive look are Truspoke wire wheels fitted with raised white-letter Goodyear Eagle radial tires. The A36 Performance Axle Package enhances the car’s performance with a 3.55 Sure-Grip 8 ¾ rear end.
