A wild police pursuit unfolded on March 7, 2024, when a Virginia State Police trooper attempted to stop a Jeep® Grand Cherokee SRT for reckless driving on I-495 near S. Van Dorn Street. Instead of pulling over, the driver—Jevon Mark, 23, of Reston—decided to push the limits of the high-performance SUV, leading officers on a high-speed chase that spiraled into chaos.
This insane chase was captured on video and is featured in the latest upload from YouTube channel StateBoyzzz, known for sharing high-adrenaline police pursuit footage.
A HEMI®-Powered Getaway Attempt –
Under the hood of the Grand Cherokee SRT is a 6.4-liter HEMI® V8, pumping out 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. This raw power, combined with the SUV’s all-wheel-drive (AWD) system, made it a formidable opponent in the chase. Mark weaved through traffic, ignoring lights and signs while testing the Jeep’s high-speed handling.
As the pursuit intensified, things took a dangerous turn. According to state police, Mark threw a firearm out of the window, which hit the pavement and then struck the trooper’s cruiser. Even after officers stayed on his tail, Mark refused to back down, continuing his reckless getaway attempt.
The Chase Ends in a Crash –
After exiting the Beltway, the pursuit led into the Kings Park West area. At the intersection of Braddock Road and Twinbrook Road, Mark rammed the trooper’s vehicle with the Jeep. Eventually, the SUV came to a stop on Twinbrook Road, where police took him into custody. Two passengers were also detained but later released.
Mark now faces multiple charges, including assault on a law enforcement officer, eluding police, throwing missiles, reckless driving, and felony hit and run. Meanwhile, the firearm he discarded was recovered.
